In Miami Beach of all places too. "I knows it's 86 degrees out at 9 pm but you better have some god damn pants on!" I bet they aren't letting any black dudes put on those loaner pants either. That's when they really tighten up that dress code.
I think the pants thing is just a scheme to collect cancellation fees and all they talked about last night was how a guy actually wore the loaner pants.
If a place has a cancellation fee, I think it’s safe to assume you need to wear pants. Definitely something that should’ve come up while packing. I’m a little surprised the confusion is common enough to stock loaner pants, but I guess it is Florida.
It sounded like they were already in Miami when his wife made the reservation, but maybe I read that wrong.
Well, in that case, I would’ve bought some of those silly linen drawstring pants they sell in tourist beach shops before I’d wear loaner pants. Probably would’ve snagged a guayabera too.
I’m surprised by the questions about cancellation fees. Pretty much every restaurant on Tock and many on Resy have 24 or 48 hour cancellation fees.
I always take at least one pair of pants with me when traveling, no matter how hot the destination. Wife is always going to want to go to at least one nice restaurant.
Great restaurants don't have to worry about people not showing up or failing to fill the void with walk-ins. That's why I stick to known commodities like texas roadhouse. Pants optional.
She was supposed to have a last minute meeting and was going to meet us in Miami late night or the next morning. While packing I said do you want me to bring pants. She said no. Meeting got cancelled and on the train down she booked it. I checked the dress code at 5:15 for a 6:00 reservation
I bartended at a restaurant that had a cancellation policy/took CC info during busy weekends and holidays and did not require pants. Saves a lot of confusion because you don't see near as much of the dilemma of people asking for a table and wondering whether to give away the table of the reservation that's 25 minutes late. Give it away and they'll show up 3 minutes later. Don't and you got a dead table. It was probably more of a problem with us because we dealt with so many tourists who are more prone to acting flaky.
I was not, but when the shit hits the fan I have seen many 16 year olds carry drinks to tables. That story was always really easy to believe.
Any time my wife has to travel while still breastfeeding, she buys a whole new assortment of accessories. Can’t reuse the old stuff, gotta try something different and “better”.
We aren’t three months post remodel and she wants to repaint the master bedroom. Which also means a new comforter cause the comforter we bought 2 months ago now won’t match the new paint.
Wife put Easter eggs outside last night. I told her to wait until morning. “It’ll be fine.” Eggs have jelly beans, sour patch kids, etc in them. And now a bunch of them also have a shit ton of ants.
Never would have guessed that the woman who buys 20 lbs of Halloween candy when we need 2 would have done the same thing for 2 kids for easter. Good thing we get to do it again next week with family
Wife is Mexican, like both parents born and married in Mexico. Wife born in USA, fluent Spanish, great Mexican food cook We have a great Mexican market that is just a little further then HEB but I can never get her to go there. Like I would shop there once a week, they have great in house made and seasoned stuff. Well today all HEBs in the area were closed, so when we decided we wanted to grab something to cook, it was the only store available. She went full on Mexican. Like this store is never gunna be open again, I gotta buy everything they have because it will never be available to me again. Literally went in for some meat to grill and some veggies, and walked out with $200 worth of fresh churros, chicharrones, conchas, pan dulce, empanadas, Conchitas, salsa, Pico, paletas, and all kinds of stuff Whole time I'm just jagfan'n about how this store isn't going anywhere
My wife is the same way whenever we go to a market that has a good selection of Colombian stuff. One of her friends told her about this place in Orlando that sells good Colombian arepas and she bought 25 packs of 10 to bring back to Atlanta the last time we went down there.
