Wife just landed from Nashville right now. No issues with flight. More worried about her drive home from airport. Luckily it’s all 470 so should be good to go
My parents live out east near Strasburg (about 20 miles east of the airport off 70) and they had barely gotten anything when I talked to them this afternoon. It just came over the mountains and dumped right on Denver and that's about it.
my dudes. wife & i fly out of denver at 5:45am to pittsburgh (connecting flight in chicago ew). how early should i get there and what gate to use pls
In my experience if you're there that early there's very little to no wait. I think if you got to dia by 445am you'd be more than ok
I have not been to the airport this early but the new security lines have not failed me at all recently. I left a meeting near the airport with 60 min before boarding and was having a beer 20 min later next to my gate.
does it matter which checkpoint i go to? i know bridge used to be the hidden gem but thinking of hitting west
Played some softball down at Kennedy last night and the guy who invited me wore a throw from shortstop off the nose. I was running to second and didn’t even have to look back to know that someone got smoked. rip to his nose.
I had an early flight a couple of weeks ago and the line was almost non-existent at the new west checkpoint. If you're there an hour early you should be completely fine IMO.
i rarely fly with checked luggage so not something i am used to much. anyone used the kiosk with southwest to check in bags? easy process?
Check in at the kiosk, the tag will be printed, attach tag to luggage and put luggage on the conveyor belt which should be right in front of you at their counter
I only use bridge security when it's a mad house. I have pre check so most of the time I'm through in 15 minutes or less
The well closing down and pizza alley being temporarily closed. Where is the west side getting pizza?
Not Denver but Barchetta in Boulder is fantastic. Was on DDD last week though so will probably blow up next few weeks. Owner is super cool
anyone know the pass situation for RMNP? My plan was going there 5/6. I know its their off season til 5/24 but nothing is currently available in May for day passes but every day is available in April. any help would be appreciated.
I think they only open reservations a few days ahead of time. You can either just arrive before 6 AM or make reservations the day before when they open up reservations
Was in Boulder yesterday and I don’t think a single traffic light was working for the 2 hours I was there
Staying right beside the Zuni street brewing company the week of May 13 as our home base as we explore the area for houses. Any food/drink suggestions nearby are appreciated.
I used to live directly next to Zuni Street brewery. get up early and go to Wooden Spoon bakery for breakfast. good LoHi restaurants include Spuntino, Uncle, Root Down, Bar Dough, Dimestore DeliBar, and Alma Fonda Fina. Occidental is a great bar. there are also some good cocktail bars, such as Lady Jane and Williams and Graham. W&G is quite awesome but requires a reservation you would need to make ASAP. I wouldn't get sucked into Olinger or Little Man Ice Cream, but maybe walk by it for some fun people watching. REI Flagship / Wilderness Exchange is a fun combo to peruse outdoor gear, if so inclined. Coffee: Maci, Little Owl. Fox and the Hound is a brunch spot people evidently like. Taqueria La Familia is great hole in the wall mexican. The mexican bakery next door is a late evening option to grab some sweets. you'd have the option to ride the bus into downtown as there are a ton of stops right around Zuni Brewery.
Just to add best sushi spot that I’ve had so far is Sushi Den. If you want to pick up expensive but delicious cheesesteaks at a brewery, Little Arthur’s Hoagies rules https://www.instagram.com/littlearthurshoagies?igsh=OWhrZmxwb3NsaHI5
I’m contemplating a move to Austin, TX for the sole purpose of saving $15-$20k and I still don’t like the idea
gotcha. Didn't think there would be that much big of a differene between the states overall tax burden. I see colorado listed as 24 and texas as 37. That is a lot of dough, for sure. but you gotta be okay with given up the benefits of living here, I suppose.
