for those of you who are talking up wolves, here is a video of an eagle absolutely dominating a wolf in seconds.

I read somewhere that cobras can get up to 18’ in length and can lift up a third of their body when threatened. Imagine a cobra looking at you eye-level

 

the funniest thing about the poll, a higher percentage of women than men think they could beat up a lion.

 

You may be able to kill the cobra, but you’re almost assuredly dying too.

snakes are scary and I hate them.

 

In fact I think most adult men could easily kill a large non constrictor snake, in a space where the snake can’t hide, but like you said, you’d be dead minutes after the snake.

 

that was more an indictment of how beta that wolf is than anything.

if that eagle swooped down and stayed for a fight, no doubt in my mind I would break that thing.

 

that eagle would swoop down, crack your skull with its talons, and leave you dead in no time. being able to fly is a major advantage. you know, that and being a dinosaur that has figured out how to be a hunting machine over millions of years.

 

A harpy or monkey eating eagle would give you severe facial lacerations, but assuming you don’t lose both eyes and then bleed out, a 15lb bird isn’t killing you.

 

it wouldn't attack a human, for sure. but the premise is that the eagle and I are in a fight. I'd have almost no defense for their speed and ability to fly, teamed with massive talons.

the eagle could mount offensive campaigns after offensive campaigns with no need for defense.

 

I think a human could (as in it’s possible a reasonably strong man could win) beat everything below gorilla on the list besides the chimp.

wolf would be a huge favorite but it’s not out of the question a human could win

could kill a cobra with your hands but probably die later from the poison

Big dogs and eagles would do some serious damage but humans are the favorite.

kangaroo seems like a fair fight

goose has no shot, at least cats and rats are fast and have claws/teeth

 

You’re SEVERELY underrating the weight difference. An eagle that comes after me isn’t flying again.

 

The largest bird on earth could absolutely not “crack your skull”

they are not built like a rock, they are flying animals.

 

Cassowary should’ve been included in place of eagle

 

if you say so. I see almost no way to stop an animal who can fly that fast.

 

but that animal can legitimately not kill you.

 

I’m taking a reasonable chance on everything from large dog down. I’m not fucking with a kangaroo much less a king cobra.

Do you think they can take off at the same speed as they can dive or something? They’re not the fucking Flash. And it’s not like they swoop multiple times. Once they’re engaged they’re engaged. And if I get a grip on either wing, they’re never flying again.

Plus, unless I’m naked and fighting in formless void...I’m a resourceful goddamn human being. Give me a fucking rock or a boot with a good shoelace and I can nunchuck that hollow boned piece of shit on the ground

 

If the eagle was in my face trying to claw me, I could get my hands on it. If it get my hands on it, it's game over for the eagle. It would absolutely tear me up a bit but I'd kill it and survive.

 

a flying bird cannot produce the force necessary to kill an adult male unless you just don’t cover your eyes and voluntarily expose your throat.
