Of course the shooter was from Montgomery county (where complaining about Houston crime is a rite of passage).
Didn’t know it was supposed to be so bad. Wife and I were downtown eating and got into the Hilton for a few drinks but it didn’t settle down. Nice driving home in that.
Fucking storm broke my umbrella. I was also downtown. It was a really fun block and a half ha. Also reserve 101 is reopening back up tonight. Idk if y’all know about them but it’s the best whiskey bar in Houston.
Anyone seen this story about this Dominican diplomats son who is a Houston reggaeton artist getting got off of wayside? Apparently there’s an insane video out there.
Yes I saw some stuff pop up on IG about it. They thought it involved a local hip hop artist but it wasn’t him it was the Dominican diplomat’s son in an apparent hit job at a gas station. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/03/us/luis-alfredo-pacheco-dominican-republic.html
I enjoy Armando’s. Foods good. Seems like such a different mix of people at any given time. The darkness makes it feel like a hole in the wall.
Am actually friends with Armando’s daughter, a good friend from Rice is married to her, they’ll get a kick out of this comment :) And here’s a cool pod/article from last month re: Armando and his wife in case you may be interested https://houston.culturemap.com/news/restaurants-bars/armandos-manditos-palacios-murphy-podcast/
