Dear Subscriber, We’ve been focused on bringing you a growing package of sports, news and entertainment programming so there’s always something for everyone in your household to watch. In 2023, we added more than 70 channels including 10 new radio channels to our base package with more on the way. This year we will be updating our DVR to unlimited hours at no additional cost, which will start rolling out in the next couple of months, meaning no need to worry about managing your DVR anymore. Record away. We strive to provide the best programming at the best value. However, from time to time our programming partners raise the prices they charge us and unfortunately we are forced to pass some of that increase onto our customers. The price of your Fubo base plan will be increasing by $5 per month and your regional sports fee will be increasing by $1, all billed quarterly. These increases will take effect on or after your next billing cycle, starting February 1, 2024.Visit our Help Center to learn more. Thank you,The Fubo Team
I’m such an idiot. My indoor antenna has always been hit or miss and I thought it was just my house and/or the placement of the antenna. I was messing around with my TV last weekend and I noticed a switch on the antenna. Looked at it more closely and I see it says “Short Range - Long Range”. It was set to short range so I flipped it and it works perfectly. Added an additional handful of channels but more importantly, NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox all now come it with perfect reception. I’ve had this thing for 5 years This is a safe space, right??
I think espn just knows they have a content monopoly and no one is going to stop watching because they don't spend the extra money. I'm probably wrong.
Why is YTTV worse? I only used Fubo once for a pac12 game and I hated it but it’s quite possible it’s just bc I was not used to it (and am used to YTTV)
4K is such a joke. I pay for it on YTTV because I share a password with my mom and it allows you to have extra screens, but there’s basically nothing broadcasted in 4K. Fox big noon is basically the only thing I end up watching regularly that’s in 4K
Oh I gotcha. Yeah I still have quality issues with yttv with a wired 1 gb connection and that’s frustrating for sure. I am pausing until March since I solved my antenna issue for the remaining NFL games
You're not wrong. If you want more; some specialty blogs and sites track and publish a monthly schedule of all 4k content. The lists are pretty much exclusively sports, but maybe the Westminster dog show or something non-sports seems to pop up 1x or 2x a year. Fubo has a list - https://support.fubo.tv/hc/en-us/articles/360011483011-What-events-in-4K-HDR-are-coming-up-on-Fubo- I think Fox and DirecTV do as well. I moved the 4k channels to the top of my YTTV guide so they are always the first thing shown. And lastly it's not the distributors (YTTV, fubo, Uverse) fault - its generally the network it is on (ESPN being the biggest offender). They are electing to not spend more $$ on/invest in their production pipeline to deliver it. The tech is there, but seemingly not the economics. Blame the suits at the channel.
Early mumblings suggest CBS won't deliver the Super Bowl in true 4k this year. Hopefully the Olympics comes up with something nice. NBC is doing well with english soccer.
I watch as much, if not more traditional YT than I do TV and the majority of YT content and videos are 4K so that's nice.
Appreciate the list. Yeah I know it’s on the channels themselves. I’m glad they lowered the price on it at least recently. I read that somewhere too. It’s such a joke that the Super Bowl and the playoffs won’t be broadcasted in 4K
At least one cable co or 3rd party streamer (such as yttv, fubo, etc). will have a 4k feed, but it's expected to be upscaled from 1080p.
Some (imo: little) content is in 4k on Peacock, but they tend to have very sharp looking 1080p feeds for sports that I watch. We will receive the answer to your question via press releases closer to the event. The opening and closing ceremonies will almost definitely be streamed to the Peacock app in 4k.
The room I have my TV's in is on the side of the house and blocked so there's no good view of the sky. Depending on the station I have to move it around. ABC and CBS are fairly forgiving but if you step the wrong way with NBC or FOX the picture scrambles.
Doesn’t really affect much on this board, but another massive company including their subscription streaming service to continue Spectrum distribution. Comcast, Paramount, and WBD are probably next whenever those deals are up.
And then after the WWE deal they announce they are axing their $12 ad free plan and will be raising prices again. Though they don’t give any specifics on how much or when.
When we moved into to our house two years ago, I noticed they had a cable amplifier I’m the basement. Coax cables running all over the basement ceiling but couldn’t figure out where they ran to or what needed to get done. Spent parts of the last two weeks tracing cables, running coax cables to various rooms and TVs, installing coax outlets in the walls. I connected my antenna that I suddenly learned how to work to the splitter and voila! I’ve got picture perfect tv on TVs throughout the house! My main tv has a built in recording function (only works if you stay on one channel so it’s not a DVR, but does the trick) so I can pause, rewind and fast forward when watching the NFL games this weekend. Able to cancel YTTV until football season and I’m very happy with the results. Feels good to finally have that taken care of
They already have it figured out for March Madness. That was their initial launch of it last year iirc. There's at most, exactly 4 channels with live games on at a time and they have those as an option.
