Ebon Moss Bachrach and Adam Driver are awesome. The boys from Girls are thriving Spoiler I think I stole that quote from Clown Baby
I honestly thought this had already happened with how popular the show seemed to be. Guess it's good to have confirmation. https://deadline.com/2023/11/the-bear-renewed-season-3-1235593960/
Haven’t read the thread and I’m sure this is the consensus… The second half of season two (that I finished over the weekend) is some of the best tv in a while imo. From Seven Fishes on is just fantastic television. Like 3-4 Ozymandias level episodes back to back to back to back.
Did bear give the girl the wrong phone number? Think earlier in the episode he was yelling his number and it ended with a 1. He hesitated with the girl and ended with 2.
I should have just waited till the next episode. She got his number from his family. Good to know though.
Just watched For Grace about Curtis Duffy who has the real restaurant they filmed in. Think everyone here will love it. https://therokuchannel.roku.com/watch/06e6a415062955899530ac3b73f2b873?source=google
Don’t know if they ever said it’s true but I’ve always assumed Carmy is (loosely) based off of Chef Curtis.
Yeah when they said his dad's nickname was Bear I was like hmmmm and clearly McHale is supposed to be Trotter.
Thanks for posting, is it on anything other than the Roku channel? That channel sucks and has way too many commercials ...
we did, I’ve eaten at Alinea twice and Pequods more times than I can count. Neat episode Season 2 is incredible, look forward to finishing tomorrow
And this was actually for the first season. So they'll probably clean up again next year for season 2.
To be honest I don't see how you give Ebon the Emmy for season 1. Season 2 absolutely but not season 1.
yeah they definitely got some season 2 bumps for some of those emmys think if the calendar was different it probably looks a lot more like how season 1 fared with the rest of its awards - wins for jeremy allen white and a best comedy nom with no win
I ate at Grace shortly after moving to Chicago and when I got there they gave me free champagne and said welcome to chicago. Would die for that man ever since
Finished up this show last night after seeing all the award show hype. Loved it. Watching interviews with Ayo Edebiri and she is one of the most naturally funny people I have ever seen, she kills it already on this show but I think her career is going to be huge. Seven Fishes was nice to see a mom more insane than the one I have and the scene where the Faks explain their baseball card scheme to John Mulaney is hilarious. Forks is maybe already in my top five favorite eps of TV ever. Very excited for s3
Started the series about a week ago and just watched the 7 fishes episode last night. Damn that episode really hit home for me as I’m sure it did for a lot of people who deal with alcohol/drug addiction with family members. My wife and I gave constant glances at each other like “yep that sounds familiar” during certain scenes. I remember numerous family functions where we always had to cater to my alcoholic brother just to “keep the peace” but all it does is increase tension (like Uncle Lee with Mikey). Also was really sad seeing Mikey hide his depression after him and Carmy had their 1 on 1. Really powerful episode, great actors and I can’t wait to finish the season.
I’ve watched “forks” so many times. It’s my #1 TV episode of all time. Few other Breaking Bad and GoT eps come close but it’s just so goddamn good.
Spoiler Kind of slept on this scene because I was literally falling asleep while binge watching it but Richie calling him Donna, who I forgot was Carmey's mom's name added a lot more to this scene and it just amplifies as it goes. What a fucking painful mess. Richie saying he loves him over and over :( while they have this huge fight
