cringeworthy how long they're draging out s4 of AOT. Why not just break it up into s5, s6, s7 like a normal show would.
So getting caught up on the thread, lots of good shows in here. Looks like everyone leans toward shounen style series. Few not mentioned but I like Darling in the Franxx (what if sexual tension powered mechs to fight monsters?) Tomochan is a Girl! (currently airing on crunchyroll, tomboy slice of life romance) High School of the Dead (1 season only because the manga writer died, amazing but could have become legendary, OP song fucking flames) Puella Magi Madoka Magica (starts off as magical girl slice of life and then shit gets real) Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (get dumb at some times but overall pretty enjoyable) Konosuba (isekai comedy, probably my favorite show and super rewatchable) The Eminence in Shadow (just finished airing, /a/ really loved this. I like it and think a lot of people here would too) Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious (great videogame-esque isekai comedy) Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song (Terminator the anime) Overlord (loved the first season and then it went downhill to me but a lot of people like it) So I'm a Spider, So What? (1 season so far, pretty cool show, liked it so much I bought and read the novels to continue the story) Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka (military magical girls with a dark side) Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler (batshit insane main girl, very entertaining) Kill la Kill (legendary classic) BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense (cute girls doing cute things while breaking character builds in a MMORPG) Sword Art Online (classic, first part is awesome, second part drags, couple of spinoff series) Okaa-san Online aka Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? (very cute mom) Darwin's Game (download app, now you're in a real life survival game) Toaru Majutsu no Index (gender equality, science vs magic) Of course there's all kinds of degeneracy out there but that can be a different thread.
oops, went to edit the above post and accidentally replied. I'll just use this post to say I love evil girls in anime.
Man, the 30 or so episodes between arcs in One Piece are so painful at times. It’s like Goku/Picollo driving school times 30. But anyways, past episode 750 now….
Pumped for it. Went and saw the last “movie” in theaters not realizing it wasn’t like mugan train and basically just the last 2 episodes of the previous season and the first of this one but still got me juiced for this season.
Have been rewatching to get ready. I think I appreciate the aesthetic even more now than I did when I first watched it.
UPDATE: We’ve sailed past the 2/3 point of One Piece. There’s some fun characters and arcs but my goodness, why so many episodes
It’s spoiled me really badly. I’m watching Black Clover and though I love the story and characters, the animation quality is so amateurish in comparison.
Mushoku Tensei is a really really good show but there’s a lot of pervy cringe shit in it. Especially in the beginning.
My SO and I are watching Summer Time Render and its a blast except for the pervy shit. Its a fucking ride so far otherwise. Another complaint is how much of a blank slate the male lead is.
Most of these shows are aimed at young boys so you're gonna catch some pervy strays. There are so many annoying tropes, even the best shows have a few.
UPDATE: There’s still a few hundred episodes to go but the English dub of One Piece ends at 940 so our sailing has stopped. Probably will catch back up on MHA dubs now.
My youngest son and I are doing a MAPPA old school watch right now. Terror in Resonance, Dororo, Banana Fish, Inuyashiki: Last Hero. List is still growing.
He’s 15….I give him a lot of leeway considering what I watched when I was younger. Good opportunity to have discussions. Like teenage terrorist in Terror In Resonance.
What the hell, after the One Piece journey we’re catching back up on MHA. Midoriya goes from 0 to insane bad ass in like 1 episode after the prison breaks.
What you don't like them moving a story along and then randomly stopping for a long unrelated side arc?
