Downloaded and played for three hours last night on a whim. I haven’t played a Bethesda game in years and I felt pretty lost. I feel like there’s so much to do but the game doesn’t do a very good job at explaining things for people who don’t typically play these kind of games. Didn’t know I was supposed to pick up the digikeys until I got to the first locker so I had to run all the way back through the building to find them. Little stuff like that. Had to pull up a walkthrough to see what I missed.
Dead cells is a masterpiece love it. just finished my first run through the campaign and I really loved it. Excited to do some things completely differently on pass through 2
https://www.pcgamer.com/ive-finally...hips-cargo-hold-is-always-full-of-misc-items/ you probably have 150 coffee mugs and 200 eggmund the desk assistants in your cargo hold if you’ve been modifying ships as much as I have
Ship names need more allotted characters wanted to name my ship Mehrunes’ Razor and I couldn’t fit the apostrophe
Fired this up tonight. Didn’t get too far yet tho. It’s insane how much shit you can pick up. Really hard for me to not pick up everything. Is there a way to put the random shit you’ve grabbed on your ship neatly? I just dropped it all on the floor to make space for more shit
I think I found a weird glitch. I built an Outpost, but now I can't land there. Every time I try to travel there, I get stuck in an infinite falling motion. If I try to land somewhere close, I can never find it. If I try to load a recent save while falling, the game is stuck in a loading screen. Still has game sounds, but screen is frozen. This is what I get for trying to do base building, when I usually hate it!
About ten hours in. Such a large area to explore. I've been a bit trigger happy a few times and killed a fair share of "friendlies" Sarah is quite displeased.
Took way too long to figure out, but got mods (mostly just some file changes) working on the gamepass version. I'm currently running Immersive damage, Spicy Clean Ship Hud, Smooth Ship Reticle, Faster Favorites Menu, Jetpack Overhaul, PS5 Icons, Responsive Grabbing, Better Jump Cost, Better Sprint Costs, Starfield Performance Optimizations, BetterHUD, Compact Mission UI, Undelayed Menus, StarUI Inventory. I can't get Jetpack overhaul to work, but the rest are great. The Starfield Performance Optimization one on nexus boosts performance so much.
Most annoying thing to me about this game is the companion constantly running in front of my reticle as I'm shooting at enemies. That's by far one of the dumbest AI programming I've seen in a while.
It was forcing me to run at max resolution so I had to change it in my pc settings to drop it to 1440. Visuals a little worse, but performance is better. There are usually huge dips when you leave a city or ship. Also turned Vasco into a tiny Vasco
I just updated and I'm still having success with them. Check your StarfieldCustom.ini and make sure it starts with Spoiler [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= sResourceLocaleVoiceList= I load my bat files a little differently, because I was too scared to mess with anything when the guides started coming out. My sStartingConsoleCommand looks like this all on one line Spoiler: Spoiler sStartingConsoleCommand=bat BetterJumpCost; bat BetterSprintCosts; bat NoXPKillStealFix; bat ImmersiveDamage; bat JetpackOverhaul; bat IHR3; bat ISD5; bat InstantScan; bat ShipTransferDistance; bat HBT5
I wonder if it's easier with Steam? It's weird bc it has files in 2 locations, Xbox Games and My Documents. I used a backup in betini, and got my inventory mod working again. Not really sure the visual mods are working. Afraid to try to add anything else, lol.
Everything you do is just in the Content folder? Do you manually update your mods, or upload them into Vortex?
If it's just a txt file for their nexus mod, it usually works straight through the Vortex and it adds a txt file into the content folder. Then I go into the starfieldcustom.ini and add something like ;bat BabyVasco. The only ones I don't have this way are in the config folder, and those are StarUI Inventory and BetterHudConfig Edit: Sorry, to update I do it through Vortex. Then I look through the ini and check the txt files to see if they're ok Edit 2: I have nothing in those last 3 folders. Afraid I'll mess up the whole process if I change anything Spoiler
I gotta figure out the system. My Config folder only has an Images folder. I copy/paste everything into Content. Probably what the main issue is. Overwriting mods with new mods, resulting in losing previous mod. Dunno how to get it back to stock. Spoiler starfieldcustom.ini Spoiler starfield.ini
Under Archive, delete that 3rd line. It looks like a duplicate to line 1 "bInvalidateOlderFiles=1" Also under General, "bEnableMessageOfTheDay=1" should be bEnableMessageOfTheDay=0 Apparently the message of the day when you load up was giving people trouble.
Ok great. Now I need to find mods to improve performance. Don't think the ones I have installed are helping/installed correctly, lol. Could also have lost some performance since I changed FOV to 100 for 1st and 3rd person.
Not usually my type of game but I am absolutely loving this shit. Got to the very end of the SysDef missions and they fired me because I had to end up shooting up one of the offices on Neon during a mission and now I guess I'm loyal to the Crimson Fleet even though they have like a 30k bounty on me, idk?
