My only gripe is the currency acquisition stuff gets repetitive. But I'm getting into the final act and am facing the big bads now and I'm hooked.
Act 3 is amazing. Act 2 was kind of meh. They could have done with half the bases/crimes because they got really repetitive by the end. All in all it was a great game will probably be 3rd best game to come out in 2018 by years end after GOW4 and Red Dead 2
Couldn't sleep till I finished that final Act sweet fuck what a roller coaster only a few more trophies until I plat this.
Mine is the non-Spider-Man stuff. The swinging around the city is fantastic. The fighting is a little meh but I think that’s because I’m not good at it. That whole MJ thing was so dumb.
To your last point, there is one of those sequences later where you're Miles and you have to sneak around to escape from Rhino. I failed a few times on purpose cause it's just so funny to see Rhino raise up a foot to smash you to death once he catches you.
I’m enjoying the backpacks, landmarks and random crimes more than the story mode because I like swinging around the city
I've only fast traveled like three times in the game when I had to go from the bottom of the island up to Harlem or something.
Not even sure I know how to fast travel but I’m gonna be swangin’ my ass there regardless. Also, I still really really suck at fighting and doing the stealth attacks.
It unlocks about 25% into the game probably, you'll see two green fast forward arrows on icons on the map that you can fast travel to. It might have had to do with syncing with all of the police scanners? Or something like that.
The story starts at a nice pace then it is a grind but once Act 3 starts it is a roller coaster of delight. I loved all the side shit but once I did everything else getting 100% on the crimes in all areas took forever just swinging around waiting for one to pop up.
solid game with a good story. swinging through the city and combat mechanics were both great. two main issues were that it slips into the same pitfall that plagues so many other open world games in terms of side content. there's a ton of really repetitive stuff in this game. 160 crimes (with like 5 variations on crime type) is overbearing. the research missions were mostly a drag. black cat had potential but they're saving that for dlc. what keeps this from reaching arkham's level, i think, is that rocksteady did an awesome job of incorporating batman's rogues gallery through side missions built around intriguing story lines. arkham and other games like witcher that have really mastered side content do it by blurring the lines between the main narrative and the extra stuff. the side activities always feel relevant to what's going on so you don't feel like you're just grinding or completing activities for their own sake so you can obtain some completionist achievement. second issue is the stealth stuff. just totally unnecessary and immersion breaking. you're giving us a game where we get to play as god damn spiderman. why on earth would i want to take a break from that so i can sneak through some complex as a journalist or 15 year-old kid using outdated and incredibly basic stealth mechanics? again, this is something rocksteady did a really nice job with in AC when they introduced catwoman. it was a fun change of pace to play as selena for a bit and the CW intervals were short enough to avoid getting stale. the MJ and miles portions of this game are just a chore to work through but overall, i think it's a solid B+. interested to see where they go with the dlc and if they end up franchising this.
I'm just getting past the beginning of Act 3. I have 100% completion on all the side missions in all the burroughs but I'm realizing I'm going to have to go back and redo a lot of the Taskmaster stuff because I silvered a lot of the missions and now I need a handful of challenge tokens to finish up the last couple suits I need and a few gadgets. That's really got me bummed. Also, the best suit power is the web blossom and every power that came after that was a disappointment because it just couldn't live up to it.
I prefer spider buddy power, but web blossom is great too....spider buddy helped get the electrify 5 guys bonus on some missions
I got this game this weekend. It’s fun so far. I’ve just been exploring. Got the backpacks and took a bunch of pics.
God damnit JFC fuck this god damn drone challenge. I keep getting like 42,000 points instead of the 44,000 I need for the gold. FUCK
You don’t need golds to platinum the game if that’s what this is about. That would drive everyone mad.
I know. It’s just my weird completionism obsession. I’ll try again tonight and give up if I don’t get it.
Just finished the game. I have to say it was a lot more fun than I was expecting. The only real issues I had were that the whole Doc Ock story seemed rushed at the end. Could have used a slower burn on that front. And the final battle was...disappointing. There needed to be something more mechanics-wise to that fight. Other than that, it we just a blast to play and I’m looking forward to the next installment. 8.75/10
Better than the original? Looking at new games since cyber punk is never releasing. Black Ops, AC Valhalla, and this are my options.
The Miles Morales game is nuts The end credits scene is basically setting up for Spider Man 2 next year which should be wild if the leaks are true
Started playing this seriously. Hunted down all the backpacks and unlocked all the towers before I even upgraded to the white spider suit.
I did everything you could in the game, but didn't get the Platinum the day before it came off PS Now. I think I only had like two trophies to get and they were both like "take pictures of people" and "waive to people on the sidewalks." Would have taken me 20 minutes.
I’m taking pictures of landmarks now EDIT: - All the landmark pictures have been taken and I’ve perched on top of Avengers Tower. - I just now realized that I have all these damn tokens to upgrade my abilities. I feel stupid now
