Red Dead Redemption 2.

Story. For some reason I never got into it. Gonna give it another go. Installing on the ps5 that I just opened after sitting here for months

 

This PS plus premium for $120/yr seems like a decent deal. Sold.

It intrigues me… but It’s just so slow to me. Controls are clunky.

 

Have you gotten past the intro? Once you're out of the snow it becomes a lot more enjoyable.

I'm thinking of a second playthrough on PC just so I can run mods that improve the quality of life. Being able to run in the camp... is a must.

 

Yes the intro is way too drawn out, get out of the snow and you’ll be able to do whatever you want

 

But then you gotta go back to the snow to get the GOAT horse.

 

I flew through the game way too fast to find all these kind of things. Need to run it back and play it correctly

 

Easter eggs and side missions make the game great imo

 

Yeah they are the point of rockstar games imo. Started replaying it earlier today and first mission is to get this horse up in the snow

I miss the smug feeling of passers-by complimenting my horse.

 

Couldn’t play it anymore. Never played mafia so downloaded the definitive edition. Great game so far.

didn’t last more than a few minutes playing mafia 2. It’s amazing how much better the first one was from a quality of life perspective. They didn’t give the second one nearly as much love “remastering” it

downloading mafia 3 now.

Game does have some tedious missions but the story missions and voice acting has been great.

Fired this up again a month ago. Despite all the games that have come out since 2017, Red Dead still feels so much more polished than anything else I've played. I love how slow and deliberate the pacing is, and I know that's been a turn off for some. It took a second for my eyes to adjust to 30 fps, but holy shit it still looks so incredible.

 

I still play a couple times a week. It’s a shame rockstar is just like yeah well fuck you losers, go play GTA

 

GTA is a lot of fun, but I feel like I just get sucked in to RDR2 for hours.

 

Yeah the fact that they won't update to 60 fps for next gen really irks me. They must be keeping that in their back pocket for an easy payday down the line.

 

And they released exactly none of the 3 summertime additions they promised because they pulled the entire staff to focus on GTA and lawsuits.

Really want to buy this for PC now that it is on sale. Has anyone played the PC Edition with mods, thoughts?

 

Haven't played it but wish I could. Looks so much better and so many more cool clothing items and things like that.

 

My son has 100% completed the game. But, he can’t platinum it until he does online stuff, which in my opinion is totally horseshit

Every component of the game that doesn’t include playing it online. He’s 100% completed the game and gotten every non-online trophy

I think it’s absolutely bullshit to need to play the online portion of an enormous single-player game to get the platinum. Maybe in something like call of duty it makes sense, but RDR2? Give me a break

 

Yeah because iirc, you didn’t need the online portion completed to platinum RDR1

 

I also agree you shouldn't need to play the online.

 

Especially with how broken online was when it initially came out.

 

Online should be its own separate set of trophies. A lot of games do it that way.
