Was reading on reddit, for most people the “forgiveness” attribute seems to make the biggest difference. Assuming keeping it in the fairway is more important than an extra 25-30 yards.
Sorry to triple post, but in this society thing is it like a golf league where we can all play against each other on the same course, etc?
You can set up seasons and tournaments for anyone in your society to join. Pretty sure there are entry fees and winnings you can set up with them, too.
Would be kind of cool if we could set up a tournament/league or whatever, where it’s open for a 4-5 day window and it allows us to play a round in that timeframe and we all have the same course/settings.
Forgiveness is huge. I’ve almost maxed out the TaylorMade sponsor and the Sim Driver you unlock is so much better than the Purple that goes 330+ but all over the course.
Does your offline PGA tour career flow to the online character? Like if I unlock a new driver off line I can use it online?
Sounds good, I figured that. Hoping to dive in tonight and play a bunch while staying up watching the Avs game.
8-0 start today online H2H. 4 of them quit after getting 3 down. better count as a W I don't know where to check it the main leaderboard is like 100 pages
Reddit has claimed people quitting counted as a L against them and also no decision. Not sure if true or fixed.
yeah my game isnt really working either. handicap is showing as 0.0 and i cant connect to much, but i do get beyond the main menu.
Reddit talking about same issue with servers. Seems like it’s been a pretty consistent issue based on their posts.
Yeah it's unplayable right now. Here was a reddit comment about how to favorite Augusta (Firehorn National): Go to the Barstool sports Society and go to the first event they ran this weekend. Its called Bossman something. Select it, hit Triangle, select course details and its right there then just hit add to favoritess.
Honestly I’m not sure I’ve ever played a 2K game that didn’t have dial up level servers. It sucks you can’t even play offline with this going on.
I'm not sure yet. I've only played a few hours and am trying to work out my swing and calibration on Pro setting. Hell it took me 15 minutes just to click 3 buttons to add Firehorn as favorite. Last night I didn't have much issue so hopefully 2k fixes this soon.
I’m sure this isn’t the only issue, and probably shouldn’t even be an issue for a video game like this, but some on Reddit said the Foreplay guys are doing some event and there’s tons of people playing it tonight which may have impacted the servers.
How many squares do you adjust for wind? I think it's about 1 square is 2mph? There's obviously a lot more that factor into it, but what's a good gauge?
My work’s server took after 2K’s and crashed, but my PS4 is downstairs where my girlfriend works from home, so I can’t play the damn game while I wait for my work to figure it out.
Can someone explain in the most generic way possible how the L1/LB shot shaping thing works? Every time I think I have it figured out I seem to be missing something. Then I google it and no one can just give a basic ass answer.
the left stick controls the flight path of the ball. up/down = higher/lower trajectory coming off of the club. right/left = bends the ball flight left/right if you want a ball to land softer or need to get it up over a tree or lip of a bunker, pull down. If you need to hit a "stinger" shot with a wood (keeps the ball lower, less affected by wind) push left stick up. Also since this is the first golf game in history to not have a "Punch Shot" (hitting a low line drive out from under trees) you select Pitch shot (only available for 5irons down) and push the Left Stick all the way up. the right stick controls the spin on the ball. up = more front roll / down = less front roll or adds backspin depending on what club. I typically only get legit backspin to occur in 9 Irons and wedges which is realistic and not sure why people expect a 5-6 Iron to hit and roll backwards worth noting that the "forgiveness" meter (small white line on the top edge of the golf ball diagram) does get smaller the more you move the LS/RS for these adjustments.
Awesome thanks. This is basically what I was thinking, but it seems like even in the tutorial the way it can be worded just gets super confusing. I was just trying to figure out the best way to try and limit top spin on my irons, I don’t expect much back spin since this game is more realistic + my clubs suck right now, but would like to “stick” some shots if I can.
Nothing ground breaking, but something I’ve found that helped me yesterday is pay attention to the “carry” on your clubs. A lot of times I found it beneficial to do a 88% shot, rather than 100% to allow room for the ball to roll and stay on the green. Seems like for right now my best success has been when I play smarter/patient and don’t get too crazy with my approach shots or even longer putts. At least until I get better at reading greens.
Stick control is finally coming around. Won a Major yesterday shooting -9 through 3 holes. Almost feel I’m ready for the next step past Pro, but that’ll be disastrous for my confidence.
I’ve also found that using draws/fades have really helped me, just seems like I can come in at a better angle and the ball stays more controlled when needed. I’m still playing the level below Pro because I’ve only played 4 rounds unfortunately. But last night I qualified for “Q-School” so will see how that goes.
-9 through 3? I put difficulty on easiest and went hole in 1, eagle, hole in one, eagle to go 8 strokes on par 16 and thought that was unbeatable.
