Got a little Country Club "Online Society" = Dangly Jawns Should be able to search for it and join. Can play real-time tourneys with people. Custom tourney's/events. Lots of good game modes. Currently have 24hr to complete the 1st test run event. Game plays like the recent Tiger games. Just like riding a bike Edit: XB here. I don't think they have crossplay
What console? Was considering purchasing for Xbox tonight, still debating if it will have good enough “replay value“ though
I’m on PS4. Courses look better. Player models not the best, feels similar to the last edition, but still nice
This was kind of what I was wondering. Couple people on reddit said the swings feel smoother and the display is obviously better. From videos I saw the player models still looked a little awkward. Will probably buy this weekend though, just TBD on console. If we have a group on here I’ll go that route though probably just because I’d like to play with people online.
A lot better shot shaping and ball spin on this years, but it does feel the same almost. Career Mode is decent, but lacks depth. Just so much potential that lacks a lot
I can add you to my buddy and I’s society if there isn’t going to be one on here for PS4. If you like playing GC2019 then you’ll like this one.
Sounds good. I’ll let you know if I download tomorrow. Initially was planning on Xbox because my friend and I do the shared account thing, but he’s got kids and shit now so who knows if he’ll even play this. So now I am thinking PS4 and play it on my monitor.
How does one set up a live event in online societies? Trying to get past the private match XP bug. In short, right now the only person who receives XP and VC in a private party is the host. The friends you play against somehow receive a negative multiplier that zeros out XP and VC for them. Was going to do a live event in societies but I have no idea how to set that up.
You can add me: mrkgmojo I won't be playing much this weekend but hoping to get into it sometime this week. Still have to finish TLOU2 too.
I went from a private match to my career and it would lag significantly. I backed out, swing calibrated and haven’t had issues since. The putting is a lot more finicky, but once you get accustomed to it you’re good. mostly during your back swing the meter will just move and return back to square one. Rarely happens after I calibrated though
Played a quick round on the career mode. I did the middle difficulty just to get used to it, will probably bump it to “pro” though to make it as hard as possible. First impression was the game is solid, putting is tough for sure though. How does the “society” stuff work?
I'm running into an issue where my swing is slow or very slow no matter how quick I do it. It's frustrating. I also have had a bunch of times where I pull the the right stick back to start my swing, only for it to get hung up around the 5-15% area of the meter. Really hard to get in a rhythm when the meter acts different almost every time
Go to the trainer and recalibrate your swing. This fixed about 95% of my analog issues besides being inconsistent as fuck in my downswing
I hook the driver and slice the irons. Not a great combo. The splash shot is my go to inside 55 yards.
Will probably be on later tonight. Was hoping to game today but got caught up doing some house project.
Trying to join but my game is all jacked up it seems. Menus are taking forever and nothing is loading. Must use the same shitty servers as NBA2K
while youre at it add me, z0mb13reptar i likely wont be back on tonight but am on pretty much everyday
What skill level do you guys play on? I've found I can only enjoy playing it on Easy/easiest. I just saw the comment on calibrating and will look into doing that.
Is there a controller attachment you can buy that clips onto the right analog stick that only allows you to move it up/down? That would help me immensely.
hold the controller in a way that keeps your thumb perfectly vertical. its a bit awkward at first but really helps.
hello yes tips I've found in the first weekend of play. Normally on Pro-Am difficulty with the lie/penalty/wind shot line assistance turned off and distance shown: Carry only Currently a +8.0 handicap lob wedge pitch from around the green when in rough/sand or too far away to land a PW Chip from the short stuff. Very easy to hit the swing right and aiming the landing spot pin high is pretty close to the adjustment needed for ~80% rough or sand. Been making these a decent amount now. When they setup a fairway shot as a Pitch with 8-9 iron I take a full wedge instead. Pitch with a PW from 30-70 out is money just have to land it 4-5 grid lines short Long chips from 90+% lie chip with a club that just gets the ball on the green unless it's a pretty long distance. Fuck splash shots unless you're in a short-side greenside bunker and have no room for roll whatsoever. LW Pitch everything you can Always try putting from the fringe first if 100% lie. The putting took a day to figure out but basically: if moderate speed greens, you don't need to touch the distance it starts with. It's spot on. If it's fast speed, shorten just a click or two on average/long length putts that are downhill. Uphill I might bump one click long if it's 40+ft. But for the most part I never touch distance on putts. Pull back the putter as slow as possible. There's no tempo factor in putting swings like there is on normal swings. you can let the backswing charge for a full second to make sure you hit forward in the white zone. I've hit a putt too short/long maybe 3 times in 2 days doing this and those were high mistakes not thinking. Putting is incredibly easy you just have to make yourself remember to just barely pull down on the thumbstick in backswing and it's really hard to hit the wrong distance. Haven't tried the Calibration deal but for fast/slow problems in swings: Driver/Woods - hold the backswing at the top for a split second if you keep getting a fast swing. Normally drives are 103-105% for me. Besides that just pull down and push up at a decent pace and don't slam it up in the downswing. Irons/Chips - No pause at the top of the swing but same pace on the pull back/push up. Try to push up right at the apex of the swing (watch the golfer and make it look like a normal paced swing instead of just staring at the meter). Any full shot that's not a wedge - I draw/fade it a small amount to try and control the bounce/roll. Probably the toughest part of the game honestly and if your drives always land fairway and shoot off into the rough this is your easy fix. If Greens are Moderate/Firm, 3hybrid thru 8 Iron shots always put trajectory and loft all the way down and then line up your shot. You can throw darts with irons at the greens with very little roll and it takes elevation change mostly out of the equation just have to play the wind. if it's 20+ft above/below then small adjustment for elevation. Thanks for attending my morning shitter Ted Talk. Feel like I'm the only one in our group who isn't dog cussing the game every other hole. Once you find the tempo in the Woods and Irons the game is p easy.
my handicap is currently 3.6 on pro. my putting game is top notch. i fuck up driving constantly. i never chip, always pitch. dont really make too many attempts at shot shaping. definitely still have issues with speed. but yeah, the game isnt as hard as people make it out to be.
I'm slowly improving. Odin got fed up with my complaining and had a decent little rant that straightened me out . Still having some blue line trouble, but for the most part things are getting better. The only 2 things I can think that have happened to improve it are switching from left handed to right handed, and putting on ridiculous clothes. It's probably the clothes tbh
ive still yet to shoot under par because theres always a few disaster holes each round. gotta work on consistency.
saw that online matches are on Pro so I switched default from Pro-Am to Pro and not really any change in difficulty IMO. Decided to upgrade driver since it seems like everyone is going with the long ball drivers. Ben Hogan sponsorship coming
i have a bad habit of trying to drive the green through/over trees which i need to stop doing because im shit with a driver just like irl
I have only had a chance to play two rounds so far. Both were offline on the middle difficulty, it seems like I’ll have a couple bogeys then a couple birdies etc. I’m thinking I’ll bump it up to Pro soon though because that’s what it is online and I also get bored playing offline games that seem super easy, so figure that will keep me more interested.
