my brother lives in Vegas so we’ll have transportation. Probably just gonna play golf, hit the pinball hall of fame, meow wolf exhibit, south point pool, then just gamble at night at hotel. I’ve stayed at the Bellagio so I’ve done the whole strip experience before. I’m not missing much.
It’s semi-convenient if you’re going from like MGM all the way to the north end, but it’s also like a mile away from the main part of most of the properties and almost negates any benefits of getting a ride or saving on cab/uber
Unless the updated PH it was kind of out dated for the technology when I was there in August. Cosmo is sort of like that book, but obviously nicer and has more of a lounge feel. Plus the food options right upstairs from it are top tier.
Flying in early tomorrow morning. My friend who has the rooms at caesars doesn't get in until later. How hellish is this check-in going to be?
good luck, maybe try and check in early for him and then have your buddy complete the check in process when he gets in. They'll charge you like $100 to check in early.
it’s comped and the host said for us to show up whenever. I remember last year though that Caesar’s check in was a disaster. Didn’t know if they have fixed their issues.
It wasn't updated, I was there in September so probably not enough for them to do anything. I just liked how I was the only one in there most of the time and really it only has space for maybe 30 people. Its a place to go to be an asocial piece of shit and eat basic pizza. Just a guilty pleasure of mine sometimes.
Thinking about checking out the Absinthe show. Never been to a show in Vegas. How is it and tickets on stub hub are like $275 each. Is there less expensive way to get tickets or is that the way it is?
I haven’t gone but 1) lots of people here say it’s great 2) I looked to go last week and they started at $170 each on the absinthe website
Right off the bat I’d say try and buy through their app AXS. But there isn’t a bad seat in that theater and it’s totally worth whatever price you get. However would also love if anyone has a price hack.
it's nice, just not the same amount of seating and the screens aren't as large as like Circa or Caesars
It's worth the experience imo - we were going to go more recently again but it was shut down due to Covid. I would definitely consider making it interesting but that's to each their own.
I know it's not Vegas but feel it's pretty directly related - the numbers Miami was putting up yesterday are comical. Easily a couple I've heard could be lies or exaggerations but I know some to definitely be accurate and it's absurd. That flight back for all the servers from Miami to LV or LA has to be hilarious.
Lay over in Vegas and said fuck it I’m staying the night. Comp room at Aria and got 2 different friends here so why not.
Got back last night. Was a disappointing trip. The $50 minimum tables everywhere on the strip Friday and Saturday night was dumb. I get it, but still dumb. Feels like every year they add in more table games where the house has a greater edge too, it's hard to find seats at normal blackjack tables. The cherry on top was the housekeepers stealing $400 from me.
I was there when it happened. We had a suite and two attached rooms. I went to go shower in my room and tossed my money on the nightstand. While I was in the shower the housekeepers came into the suite and my friend asked them to clean the room, not knowing I had my money out. Went out later that evening and when I went I pulled the cash out it felt light. Counted and it was short $400. It was in a rubber band and I hadn't touched it since before I got back to the room, took us awhile to even put 2+2 together.
We went up to finish watching some games. We had the suite and two rooms. They came and my friend asked them to clean up the rooms. Not sure why that is weird.
I dont have this issue as as I lose my roll before first turndown service and have gone to the cage multiple times to re-up
Vegas will always have its place for a few nights but my last visit is where I feel like it is way too overpriced. even fast casual meals are ridiculous and the no Kuerig or instant coffee in most rooms gets annoying when your are not in 21 bender mode anymore
For a single room yeah. but for a suite we had at Encore(much different) We had hotel staff in and out all day cleaning up shit plus the "butler" and his staff
I have no clue. Last year it was $25 at most places. Like I said, I get it. All the tables were full and the casinos were slammed. Just sucked.
normal at the better properties. Aria early weekday in July minimal $50 tables and everything $100 or more. min craps table was $50. Wynn same thing
I remember going to Aria like 5-years ago and thinking the $25 minimum tables were excessive. We didn't go through the whole strip, but even the Flamingo and Linq were $50.
it's been 6:5 for as long as I can remember on the strip. It just seems like the vegas casinos are continually adding new things every year to get a greater edge. There were more free bet tables than blackjack at Caesars.
It’s blackjack, but if you get certain card combinations you get a free bet token that basically is a free double or split, or something and there is a pay table for how many of those you get in a hand. Overall odds are worse, but it’s lively. this example paid out 750 for 15 on the side bet and 10 for each token hand that wins on the $10 I think.
