I always assumed the brief recruiting success willie had and was in position to land at oregon was due to Cristobal
Eh the team has looked sloppy for most of the year so last night and 2 weeks ago were kind of just the culmination of it all. It would suck to lose Cristobal though, I'm not gonna lie
that feeling on the Sunday after the 8th victory when 7-5 is no longer in play had it a whole 4 times in the last 4 coaches
ND has had about 3 new threads on the last 2 years on ours (and all three were Marcus freeman related in the last few weeks )
Funny thing about this is that both sides will likely apply at some point, regardless of what happens with this attempt
Boy if people thought Frost was Teflon, if Mario comes that dude ain’t getting fired for shit short of rape, murder, or domestic violence.
Oregon has also taken advantage of a down USC. Will be interesting what Riley does to their recruiting
USC’s 247 team recruiting rankings 2019-21: 20, 64, 7. Oregon’s: 7, 11, 6. So Riley has a lot to make up. USC’s 2022 class is currently ranked in the 80s. Riley will probably hit the transfer portal hard to being in some talent for the ‘22 season. I fully expect him to begin bringing in the best PAC-12 classes beginning with the ‘23 class. With this is the important factor that he will get and properly utilize the QBs, RBs and WRs he wants. It’s going to be interesting. The conference has been in dire need of a spark like this.

super convenient to leave out the 2018 USC class of your narrative. Over the past decade SC has gotten 90% of the players they have targeted in Southern California. Again, you have no clue what you’re talking about. If USC starts winning big again it’s because Riley can develop talent and coach, not because of recruiting.
I hate the “X school recruits itself” narrative but it is the truth. I hate to say but sc football recruits itself. Helton proved he a bad coach can get just about. all the talent he wants there.
Are you saying the data I posted is wrong? Anyway, I didn’t include 2018 because their impact on Riley’s roster should be limited after ‘22 (no guarantee I guess. I’m not quite sure how the temporary eligibility accommodations factor in). I anticipate that the ‘19-‘21 classes will be the major part of the roster after ‘22 and are, therefore, the relevant classes.
I don't want to be dealing with the bullshit I do at 62. I can't imagine doing that with high school kids in the mix
I’m saying exactly what my last sentence said. The idea that Riley is going to fix the program by recruiting better which is going to make Oregon a 6-6 or 8-4 is dumb as fuck and a lazy take by someone who doesn’t know the pac 12.
Think what he’s saying is Mario capitalized on USC being down and took some top kids that would have normally went to USC but ended up at oregon, with Riley there that likely doesn’t happen
that didn’t happen though. I think The Banks posted it but we have only pulled 4 out of the top 50 players out of California over the past 5 cycles. We really haven’t been that successful there. edit: in 2021 we didn’t sign a top 10 California player from SoCal, in 2020 we signed Flowe, 2019 we signed Thibs and Wright, 2018 we didn’t sign a top 10 California player.
USC when they are on top isnt just Cali kids though right? Basically all the top west coast kids were going there or am I remembering wrong
