Lots of lazy writing in this show, concentrating so much on The Story that they make caricatures out of characters and have them do and say unbelievable things. The Night Of and The Outsider suffered from the same problem. Disappointing, as I've been a Winslet fan since Heavenly Creatures

I just finished the show tonight and I don't have as big a problem with the ending as most people seemed to have in real time, but Dylan's actions make no sense based on what he knew at the time. Spoiler No one's actions in that car chase scene with Jess made any sense. It was all just misdirection.
Really enjoyed the series. Being a quasi local, accent was not as horrible as episode one. My biggest issue was the cadence, but that’s unavoidable for a TV show. But it was good, enjoyed the finale.
