From a TV production standpoint it seems like if anyone is gonna say yes, they would have it at the start of the last episode. That being said...both sets of parents look like they HATE being there.
It's my fault for watching it, but the "coming up" part they aired at the end of the episode seemed to spoil almost everything. I'm really annoyed at myself for watching, but also for them for selecting what they did to show.
Agreed on Matt and Colleen...that was pretty shocking to me. No way they last. Zaneb's friends clapping after she went in on Cole was funny. Alexa's Dad seemed cooler than I was expecting at the wedding. Bartise sucks so much. Just a terrible person. Anxious for Nancy's Mom to issue a hit on him. Haven't finished the reunion special, but was surprised to see that SK/Raven are still dating and seem to be doing well. Who do I need to talk to be the Officiant for a LIB wedding? I would love that.
Zanab looks bad after the reunion and that cuties oranges story...she was full of shit about how he talked to her there. Makes me wonder if she truly did make up the bachelor party story.
Wonder how the girls feel about it considering they just took Zanab’s side. Think there’s still a lot of other situations that probably led to Zanab taking his comments on the Cuties the wrong way. Cole sucks either way.
Completely agree...dude sucks. But, it definitely left me wondering how many of the stories she told about him were lies or greatly exaggerated....because that oranges story in no way was like how she described it.
It went down as she said. His tone wasn't negative like I think we all assumed but if he's been saying shit like that over and over about her body and eating habits he doesn't need to say it in a mean way for it to be really hurtful.
She was pretty damn accurate in her description of the conversation. The interpretation is the only thing that’s off, but we’re missing a lot of potential context of past comments and how those likely impacted her interpretation of this exchange.
Cole is a shit head...so, I'm not looking to defend the guy here. But, she seemed to greatly exaggerate how he conveyed that conversation...even one of the girls...think it was Raven blurted out something like "the tangerine story!" before it was even discussed it on the show. That whole scene was very awkward in itself...with Cole seemingly just trying to make conversation with her. What was your take on her story about him and the bachelor party? None of those guys seemed to like him , but they even seemed to stick up for him there.
Disagree with this take. Cole's been making microaggressions toward Zainab all season long (Ex. Calls her biopolar after the comments about the kitchen. But plays it off with a smile. Also the "you should be happy with being a 9 out of 10" comment). His comments aren't as aggressive as, say Matt's when he's intoxicated. But he finds little ways to get his point across hurtfully.
I was pretty disappointed with the reunion overall and don't think Nick and Vanessa are equipped to have frank conversations about what happened this season. Vanessa comes off as a starved spouse looking for friends and Nick has found a way to mention that he was married to Jessica Simpson on every reunion show. I found it pretty shitty that Nancy didn't get to comment on the abortion comments by Bartise. Nick Lachey comes off super campy with his "I'm glad y'all were able to have serious conversations" bit. They never addressed Matt's apparent rage issues when he's intoxicated or the fact that he didn't remember facetiming Colleen the night that the girls went out. Overall, I don't think Matt and Colleen have a shot in hell of actually staying married. He still hasn't overcome his demons from his previous marriage, and they just came off as faking it IMO. I also think they hypersexualized Raven throughout this entire process. From Bartise's comments after first seeing her to Vanessa trying to dig into SK/Raven's sex life. They made her the hot girl this season, and we didn't learn everything about her (As compared to someone like Zainab). This brings me back to Cole and Zainab. I think it's pretty bad that they didn't address the fact that Cole's family didn't want to meet Zainab (Yet followed her on IG) and the fact that Cole pulled the "You aren't a white girl. So I probably wouldn't have dated you in the real world". That's the kind of shit that should be addressed in this so-called social experiment that Netflix promotes. She didn't deserve that kind of hatred at all. I don't have much to say about Alexa and Brennan. She's a zionist and comes from a zionist family. That would be a hard no for me. But good luck to them.
Oh, I forgot to mention, the EPs definitely have footage of what Cole did the night before the wedding. Kind of surprised they gave him a pass on that one.
And I was one of the folks calling her out for working out while Bartise cried his eyes out. I think they shared no depth to her story and hyper-focused on whether or not she was going to fuck SK or not. SK and Raven are the only folks who navigated this process right. They ignored the traps laid by the EP's and other cast members (Ex. Raven hated the strip club and completely blow Bartise off at the pool party). Also, Bartise definitely strikes me as the kind of brother that will chase the conservative/right wing bag after getting dumped on for that abortion take. Dude's going to be working for Candace Owen's and the DailyWire before Christmas.
Raven was a much better person than I expected. Other than her comment about her expecting him to pay her rent she came off really well and would have liked to learn more about her life and career.
I’m only about half way done with the show but I can’t be the only one that didn’t find Colleen as attractive as Zanab, right? Didn’t get that plot.
Said this multiple times...I just didn't get it with Colleen (in relative terms). Think my opinion may also be influenced by how clearly desperate she was in the pods to make it to the rest of the show. Hard to believe they didn't hit on that more as time went on and in the reunion, though I suppose that would be a bit cruel considering she did marry Matt (for now).
Don't really care too much about it either way. Ultimate he said, she said scenario and just like the Cuties deal, their completely different perspectives likely have an in-a-vacuum situation somewhere in the middle. It's easy to see Cole joking about a girl at the bachelor party just to needle Zanab.
- SK and Raven were really the only mature adults on the show - Colleen and Matt feels like an Unsolved Mysteries episode waiting to happen where she vanishes under weird circumstances on their honeymoon. Matt gives serious domestic violence vibes - Brennon and Alexa are the exact same couple that got married last season - Bartise is a 25 year old - Cole and Zanab. Well. I feel like they tried to tee this one up as Shake and Deepti part 2. And while Cole was a dick to her at times, I don’t think he was Shake. And while Zanab did get disrespected, she was also nowhere near as pure as Deepti. My final verdict is Cole is an asshole and Zanab is a manipulator with a victim complex. Neither are actually likable people.
Woof, Zanab may not want to search for herself on Twitter. Because she is getting dragged by the masses
I think it's a lot of folks ignoring microaggressions. That scene isn't Cole at his worst. But we've seen Cole say something pretty shitty with a cartoonish smile on his face. I'd be highly curious to know what his previous wife (and Matt's *if she's alive*) think of their ex-partner's actions in this series.
Honestly no one came off worse all season than Bartise. It was close with Cole and his bipolar bullshit but Bartise stayed a clown all season. Maybe they shouldn't allow any men under 30 on anymore.
Cole is a very dumb stupid child, but I get the sense that zanab took her own insecurities and personalized every stupid thing he said, then because she continued to subject herself to that, she just blamed him and torched him. I won't ever defend Cole, or any of the dudes on this season, but after the reunion something is really really off with how zanab interprets those conversations.
Anyone watch 1899? Excited to watch Indside Job part 2. I enjoyed the first season. pepsi jet documentary was ok and worth a watch
Rewatched the video now on my computer and I'm sort of struggling with the timeline here. I need to know when they filmed and when they got back together.
Cole isn’t innocent by any stretch here and says some dumb shit, but I think the evidence is that Zanab wayyyy over exaggerated how awful he was and was selling her bullshit to the rest of the cast. I think she was just massively insecure to begin with and literally anything Cole said would have offended her. She was always passive aggressive as fuck, and (as an example) when he tried to cook dinner she literally could only shit on everything he did/said. She came off as a massive dick at the end, and an unreliable narrator (at best).
i was only half watching the show but this was my take. Even my wife thought Zanab had a major insecurity complex.
I hate conjecture about reality tv bc you are seeing what they want to show you and trying to make an opinion out of that. But him saying that Colleen is a 10 and Zanab is a 9 is going to create a hard insecurity to break.
In the context of the show and the fact that they purposefully tempt these people, totally, but she just seems insecure (at least from what they show you) to begin with.
