Nolasco's ERA (5.05) is significantly higher than his FIP (4.69) and his other metrics (K/BB, BABIP, LD%) indicate that his ERA should be closer to 4 than 5 (xFIP of 4.27).

Nolasco has sucked, but he has a good track record and could easily bounce back. Rolen is 400 years old and will get hurt this year. In what world is trading a very recent waiver wire player for a pre season top 100 player a ridiculous move? Oac thinks that with his team, Rolen's injury history is a better risk than Nolasco's recovery. My team has other needs.

If it is veto trades based on flat value without understanding strategies of owners and different philosophies and approaches, I would veto this one based on oac thinking the previous trade was not worthy of passing. Just using the same thinking. Ok again where a player was ranked by Yahoo at the start of the year means nothing. The fact that he was a FA means next to nothing. What the player produces matters. It is just like oac's ridiculous assertion that "Ian Kennedy shouldn't even be owned because his own% is so low on Yahoo!" Yep no player with a low own% has any value. That is what oac taught us. A sabermatrician determines value based on Yahoo own%... Ben Zobrist knows that value is not determined by just preseason ranks or projections, but what happens combined with what is likely to happen in the future. If Trofie and I did our trade David Ortiz would have been a FA (one of the other ridiculous reasons oac gave for why it was unfair) but by your analysis he would have basically no value. Hell include keepers in this equation and Rolen's jumps compared to Nolasco. Much better chance that he is a top 275-288 player next year and worthy of a 24th round keeper than Nolasco is a top 80 player and worthy of a 7th rounder.

Especially when you owned 3-5 players with a lower own% at the time. I can't check Yahoo Fantasy right now at work, but just a couple weeks ago Rolen was owned in less than 50% of leagues. I guess he has no value.

The Stanton for Howard and Gallardo part of the deal was okay. It was the Ortiz part that raised some flags and that's not just my opinion.

My position was that you couldn't change it after that keepers for a year were set because it could have affected decisions for folks. Where is this posted? It isn't on the league page and it isn't here. Is there another thread where everyone agreed that was the plan moving forward. It certainly would have affected trades a hell of a lot more. Also, what was the determination then for traded players? And it would vastly affect the values of young players.
