Has anyone heard "Mama's Boy," a Kanye song that leaked last June? It turned it to be fake, as in the lyrics are real, but someone else made the beat. Wouldn't be surprised if the real version ended up on his next solo album.

I still listen to this every once and a while. Whoever made the fake beat did a great job imo. Sounds like Old Kanye. Pretty sure these lyrics were made in the MBDTF recording sessions. When Kanye went to the Facebook offices several months before MBDTF came out, he performed a couple songs acapella, and one was called Mama's Boyfriend. Lyrics are identical to the fake song.

 

The beat is so simple, yet sounds so right. I don't know what it is, the beat reminds me of skyscrapers over an inner-city(particularly Chicago) or something. But don't most hip-hop beats? I don't know. That beat creates images in my head.

Yeah, I think he explained that in the longer version, but I haven't heard that version in a while. I'll have to go to whosampled to hear the Bette Midler track he sampled it from. Bette Midler of all people. Sampling is great. EV and Kanye went in with that one.

what i meant to say was that his songs lack consistency. some rappers rap about the same subject or tell a story like big did in most of his songs but kanye seems to just put random ideas together most of which are about fucking hot women and being a celebrity
