Oh man I got humbled by blood starved beast last night. Hadn’t died since the werewolf at the beginning. I need to get good at this. Threaded Cane is much harder for me to use than Saw Cleaver.
Cheese tip: hunter axe Non cheese tip: pungent blood cocktails Non cheese tip 2: parry Cheese tip 2: pillars Non cheese tip 3: fire paper
Used fire paper. Felt like Baric Dondarrion for the brief moment before I got stunlocked. Was really trying to force the whip from the threaded cane. I’ll try and get a little time in tonight and see if I can put together a better strategy.
Irush theres stuff in here. Main thing when you level is remember the stamina bar is super OP in this game. It isn’t nearly as important as it is in ER
There’s an option for you here that I truly believe From put in play for ppl who thought the threaded cane looked cool
I should specify I have only faced cleric beast once without leveling up because I didn’t know what blood echoes were I got him down to about 2/3 health before he killed me and I lost my 4500 echoes I had accumulated nothing else has killed me so far
The saw spear. It’s like the only early game weapon available, it’s good and it scales with skill. Should be a nice guide to get it on YouTube
Damn I just cut those corpses down last night and chickened out when I saw all the rats waiting below
Saw cleaver best weapon in the game. Restarted mine to get that weapon and it was much easier. Still had to stairwell-cheese father gascione
it’s actually this simple. The game can change drastically based on your amount of insight. The only reason you could level up was because you were finally able to gain one insight from seeing the cleric beast
There’s merchants in the hunter’s dream that sell you things for it. I’m not sure if you need a certain amount to actually see them but I think you do. General rule, for me, was to stack as many as possible in a play through. The game can be different based upon it, it’s importance I can’t recall
Level 23 with all points pumped into Vitality (20) and skill (17) have the saw spear at +1 am I good to fight the cleric beast now? also I killed some chick with a plague doctor mask on by the sewers and apparently she is named Eileen and has a quest save it for NG+ I guess
Unlocked the elevator that takes you to the sewer with the slimy crawly bois gonna call it a night I have 5 of the cold blood upgrade things and wonder if I should +2 the spear or wait for a new weapon
solid 8/10 experience for me so far. Mostly due to art and level design Sony really fucked up not doing a 4k 60 FPS update on this
When I just randomly stumble upon some guy named Father Gascoigne with over 3k blood echoes and I’m smoking him until he changes form and then owns me
lol irush is easily one of my favorite posters on tmb but he has given me so much shit over the years for being fromsoft weeb. This is such vindication
There’s an easy way (think Margits shackle) but you may have outplayed the story arc. Then there’s the stair cheese
I have a bias against a lot of Japanese games simply because they get a free pass for being lazy and predatory but it’s a riot when a western company does it. Final Fantasy, monster hunter and the resident evil remakes are the pinnacle of this. from soft has proven me wrong and I’m ok with admitting it
I’ve got nostalgic memories from JRPGS but I don’t play them shits any more. I always tried to explain the western influences in from games to you. I’m glad you came around
There’s an NPC quest leading up to his fight that gives you a reward for his fight. I do believe it times out at a point.
Irush you haven’t gone far at all and everything you’ve done to this point can be redone in a couple hours
Gotta pay attention to the signs bro. Lights on outside a door mean something. Exploration is part of it
I shouldn’t be punished for stumbling across a boss by literally just exploring and not doing something in the correct order if the order isn’t made clear
