I know she’s a favorite of a lot of people but like I said, she hasn’t been part of my party for 40+ hour of gameplay so, as far as I can tell currently, her people are just after my artifact and that’s a problem. So they need to die.
She may find her way into Karlach’s role. Spent two days of play time to knock out all the Gith content and am returning to the Last Light about a quarter of the way through level 7. If I’d hit 7 before having to defend the Inn, that fight wouldn’t have been so bad.
soooooo when you went back to the mountain pass.... did you happen to get some special item from the Rosalyn Monastery that was used to get one of the best weapons in Act1/2 from deep down in the Creche? My guess is no, and you're cool to go back to Act 1 any time up until you do the Shar Temple. That weapon in the Creche secret basement is fantastic for Act 2 (if you don't have the special item from the monastery do not try to remove it from the Creche or it's game over
Finished up my 4p coop run on Tuesday night. Having only 4 allies because of Durge things was hilarious when I had ~15-20 in my original playthrough. Got to run away with Karlach to Avernus this time as god intended. Got kicked out of the post-game camp party by withers for twin casting Disintegrate on people at camp. Pretty hilarious cut-scene tbh. Prior to being kicked out the bard that I attacked on top of the camp tower absolutely fucking wrecked me
Yes, sort of. I went the hard way of just yanking it out of its holder and having to deal with the force field and timed battle. Also, because I'd already laid waste to every Gith in the temple prior to hitting up the plane jumper thing, Vlaakith didn't even bother me when I came back out and hadn't murdered my guardian.
New patch next week adds more interactions with romance options, new legendary actions to bosses in honor mode and a bunch of bug fixes
For the love of christ add a fucking way to increase the enemies health pool beyond +30% it's just not fuckin enough in Act 2-3
See the thing about options is... more of them isn't a bad thing. You can play on whatever mode with +30% HP and I could play on whatever mode with +100% HP and then we're both happy
Just finished Honour mode. I ran with Tav, Lae’zel and Karlach all as BM Fighters and Shadowheart as Storm Sorceror. All fighters I respec’ed down to 8 strength (using the strength 21 and 27 elixirs) and maxed out Dex (for the initiative and a little extra bow damage) and Con for them as much as possible. Shadowheart was there mostly to pick off stragglers and for the huge wet bonus damage on bosses. I relied a lot on Radiating Orb and the debuff bows (Bane and Frighten) especially once I got access to the Arrow of Many targets. By late game I never saw anything below 85% hit rate for any of my attacks and between action surges and hastes, I never really made it past 3 rounds of any battle. Fun group set up and not very resource intensive. And yes, I did camp cast a fair amount, too.
I just wrapped up Cazador on tactician with BM Laezel using titan and arrow of many targets for the first time. Trivialized that entire fight so I definitely see your vision here
Yeah, Bane and Frighten aren’t spells I’m ever going to cast, but being able to apply them as an AoE CC is great.
Just welcoming myself to the thread, but I'm currently in Act 2. I'm running as a half elf rogue, and primarily bringing Lae'zel, Shadowheart, and Karlach as my party. Shit is fun as hell, but I sucked at the beginning and have been playing at a lower difficulty just to get a feel for the game. I think my second run I will really try to up the difficulty on myself. I also still need to get way fucking better at saving my game.
I needed to play explorer -> custom -> balanced -> tactician. I had no real understanding of the progression / how equipment works at first. Tactician ended up being a piece of cake once I figured out those things
Yeah, I spent very little time on determining class/character or choosing a difficulty starting off. I decided at the beginning that there was going to be a learning curve so I just jumped in as en evo wizard on Explorer, to get a feel.
Haven’t been able to play much lately but just fired it up and the fucking game deleted at least a couple hours of game play. That’s fucking annoying
Just don’t romance anyone, that’s an option. the RP in RPG is what gives anyone the experience they want. I don’t want to steal from people, therefore I don’t do that mechanic. Don’t want to sex up an NPC? Decline those dialogue options. Want to murder some civilians and cause mass chaos? You can play that way! game gives you tools and options, you are free to play however you like. Was curious about it first play through, haven’t touched it since.
I feel like the most popular girl at the bar sometimes. Everyone tries their luck at camp. Maybe it won’t be so annoying once I’ve turned everyone down - but I just wish it wasn’t something I had to endure.
no but you’re probably in the minority people have loved that shit for ages I think it adds a more lifelike factor to the story and also I have a thing for moody women with a good smoky eye so Shadowheart just gets me torqued
I had the day off yesterday so I decided to try an Honor run. Decided I needed a Charisma based character but I don’t know how to play bard and couldn’t decide on a sorcerer build. I settled on an Orc paladin of vengeance. Moving along swimmingly, got to the grove checking boxes. Long rest and it’s time for Astarion to feed. I rolled two NAT1s on a check of 5 when I had 4 bonus points. Only two inspirations.
I don't know if Honor prevents revivify but I let him keep going in my playthrough because I assumed he was would just stop...and had to use one of my other party members to revive my PC.
I rage quit because I was so mad at 1) the improbability and 2) I wasted my inspiration. I’ll log in tonight and see where it actually saved on log out and if I need to restart
Just started Act 3. Shit is wild. I feel like I've done so much dumb shit this first play through because I just had no idea what I was doing.
FWIW, I'm playing a Sorcerer and this has been a pretty good guide. https://deltiasgaming.com/best-baldurs-gate-3-sorcerer-class-draconic-bloodline-build/
I love playing sorcerer but I always end up an elf race if I go that way and I didn’t want to risk the priestess gut exchange on honor mode (sleep potion not working)
I decided that on my second run, I'm going to play what is probably for the most part a dark urge run. Basically, I'm going to make a little Donald Trump character, make him a complete piece of shit, and make decisions purely based on what I think Donnie boy would do. Debating race and class for him though. Third run I'm thinking of a McConnell run as like a warlock or something.
I love tieflings. I almost started a zariel tiefling dragon sorc (fire) for honor mode but that’s a waste of their smites (I think)
Bludgeoning weapons, Lump’s horn and using magic missile to gain aggro. You could always use the owlbear from the top rope method, too.
I found it by accident. I saw the lava elemental and jumped off the cliff. I didn’t realize there was a stairway until play through 2. I did not have any of the material to work the forge, which was another issue
It’s a really fun and unique fight. The splint armor you can forge is really good and the shield is decent. Beating it by not using the intended mechanic for a trophy was stupid.
I always sneak in and fly directly to the right. Then you only have to deal with the three archers and the far slayer. The other enemies don’t appear if you don’t enter the area and you don’t have to run across that narrow bridge
Think I happened on Ansur earlier than I was supposed to. Haven’t even talked to Gortsh before his coronation yet and ran into Ansur’s den at lvl10. He wiped my party except for Karlach, who escaped with 1hp. Went back to camp, had Withers rez everyone back, long rested and immediately went back. All of his little minions were dead but he was back to full health. Finished him off with just Shadowheart still standing and his turn next.
Finished Ansur and Iron Throne on Honor mode last night. All of my characters are tanky and not very efficient so Iron Throne had me very worried. I did not save all of the Gondians. I used Lightning Resistance and Globe of Invulnerability scrolls elixirs to get through Ansur (made it pretty straight forward)
