I didn't mean it like that but worded it badly and don't want to keep arguing. Hope you enjoy this series even if you didn't like the animated stuff.
Hard to explain, but she never died. They set it up in a way where Ezra was always going to save her from dying in the end. What isn't told is what she was doing between that episode and the part where Ezra is on the timeline when he saves her. But everyone believes she's dead until Ezra saves her in that episode.
It’s the wiggly wobbly time travel stuff that gets murky. The way I always interpret it, there wasn’t any time in between, as Ezra and Kanan are flying away from the temple, Ezra is also reaching through the timeline at that instant and saving her. That also explains Vader walking away from the giant temple explosion with no damage at all, as Ezra pulled her, she sliced the floor causing Vader to fall down and away from the blast. I can’t remember, was Morai at the Sith temple watching that fight between Vader and Ahsoka?
Wasn’t he essentially just “the bad guy” for 2 episodes of Boba Fett? They didn’t give us much to go on by the way of introductions or back stories for Moff Gideon either.
He was Cade Bane, one of the most legendary bounty hunters ever. He broke into and stole a Holocron from the Jedi Temple. He’d fight toe to toe vs Jedi and win. Moff Gideon was a new character in Mando as far as I know.
Oh my god. All these scenes are shot exactly like a real life clone wars. You can tell they shot exactly from Filoni’s story boards.
Ok so I was completely wrong and you need to know a lot about the backstory to know what’s going on. It’s not good going in dry
I'm gonna binge this after it finishes so I have time to get ready. Looking on torrance I need to grab: Star Wars Clone Wars, seasons 1-3 (2003-05) Star Wars The Clone Wars, seasons 1-6 (2008-14) Star Wars Rebels, seasons 1-4 (2014-17) Star Wars The Clone Wars, season 7 (2020) Is that the watch order?
I don't understand why Ahsoka would take Sabine on as a padawan when she has no force ability. Her character should just stick to being the badass mandalorian she was in Rebels. I'm going to let the show play out though and see where it goes.
Was thoroughly entertained by the first 2 episodes. For anyone complaining about the show catering too much to the animated series... suck it, non-nerds!
Not what I would have expected when the series was announced, but the trailers were basically mini versions of the episodes. They showed almost all of the main action in them. I trust that Filoni will make the Ahsoka/Sabine stuff work in the end. It was just kind of weird that the first episode, especially, of the live action Ahsoka series after all these years was mainly about Sabine. Only thing I'm concerned about going forward is the Thrawn part. The set up of all this with the star map and whatnot just seems so weird and doesn't make sense to me based on the end of Rebels.
I heard Shawshank Redemption was a great movie so I watched the last 30 minutes and didn't care for it. I feel like the rest would definitely not be for me.
I’m probably missing some Rebels lore, but the Legends lover in me got a little excited when they mentioned an old race from another galaxy. Would be something if they introduced the Yuuzhan Vong. Can’t imagine they would do anything like that though.
This is definitely a personal opinion I guess if you need to know who everyone is at all times. I thought they did a good job in the first two eps walking us through
I too only know of Ahsoka from Mando. I am going to watch this even though I haven't seen Clone Wars (despite not knowing her backstory, the character seemed incredible based solely on what I saw in Mando). I also agree with the sentiment that the Book of Boba version of Cad Bane was a bit underdeveloped for the non-Clone Wars viewers.
Clone wars and rebels are both very hard to start watching as an adult. (Watched with kids during pandemic lockdown days out of boredom.) AND they both have some clunker episodes, annoying characters, and wtf mythology stuff in them but after I don’t know, ~20-30 episodes, the SW universe and characters are so much richer for it, and you’ll enjoy the rest. And the payoff of “Blue guy seems like a pretty bad dude” => “holy shit that’s real life cad bane” is indeed a very wide gulf.
I feel like that's more in line with the version of Ahsoka we get in Rebels. Padawan Ahsoka in Clone Wars had a lot more spunk.
Got up early to watch e2. I think it’s great was it known that Morgan Elsbeth was a night sister? Was that red tree planet they took the map to where Maul was from? The fight scenes I thought were pretty awesome
ahsoka isn’t a jedi, so I am interested in this as well. ray’s character and his padawan aren’t sith, so I’m assuming it’s kind of along those same lines?
Liking it so far. Evil Apprentice got me feeling a certain kind of way. Closing credits are cool as well.
I noticed on Disney+ they had references to clone wars and rebels for certain episodes to catch up on Ashoka. May watch those as I know who she is but not Sabine
I was watching the credits, saw Tennant's name and couldn't remember seeing him in the show until I checked IMDB and felt like an idiot for not figuring that out.
also, Clancy Brown joined Katee Sackoff as another voice actor getting to play the live action role as well which is pretty cool. not sure if there have been others. Brown has had a bunch of Star Wars roles recently. he played a red alien in Mando and was the voice of the Inquisitor Ahsoka fought in Tales of the Jedi.
Trying to piece timelines together: -Ahsoka defeats elsbeth in season 2 of Mando. Elsbeth is apparently turned over to the NR and on a transport where she is freed by some dark side users -Ashoka gets in touch with Hera and Sabine to find Thrawn/Ezra do all of these events happen before Grogu/Luke/Ahsoka are together and Mando comes back to get Grogu? Favreau said grogu was with Luke for 2 years. We saw Zed in season 3 of Mando chilling at an outpost, so is he not involved in the Ahsoka stuff?
And why does the new republic insist on not using some sort of escorts for security while transporting these high level criminals?
You dont need the 2003-05 series. It's something completely different. Very cool, but different. The rest is in proper order. However for The Clone Wars Season 1-6 - they aired out of chronological order. There are guides online that have the proper viewing order, so go find one of those.
