Most of this was fleshed out in Mando 2/3. Every one that actually knew Ahsoka survived order 66 assumed Vader killed her in Rebels. Since the end of Rebels it seems she’s been visible more (still no clue where she was during the original trilogy and fall of Mandalore). So it’s not surprising Thrawn hasn’t thought about a Jedi that died 13 years ago. We know there’s imperial loyalists everywhere. We saw the shadow council in Mando and there’s a loyal army to lead waiting. They still need to flesh out the Thrawn v Moff v Snope/Palp power dynamics though. So Ezra made Sabine/Ahsoka promise him they would look for him. One of his strongest force abilities is bonding/talking with animals so it’s my guess the whales gave him a pretty good idea what would happen. Ahsoka mentioned that she heard rumblings that a nights sister has been in communication with Thrawn so that’s why she began the search (Thrawn could lead to Ezra). That’s when we first pick back up Ahsoka as she’s hunting Morgan. Everyone else in the republic thinks she’s crazy, that’s why we see them laughing at Hera.
because he’s the only one who knows the Empire has the capability of building a starship that can block hyperspace travel and a TIE variant that beats the shit out of X-Wings
Realized it doesn’t even matter if Thrawn has an army waiting for him, everyone will see that stormtrooper helmet with the golden mask and enlist immediately to get the drip.
Some nerd cast talked about the gold inlays on the drank trooper armor was a shout out to Kintsugi. There were a lot of Japanese/Samurai references but I can’t remember them.
Definitely felt like a lot of Japanese influence. Even the raiders that Sabine encountered had a samurai influence.
Anakin would have been ~52 during Ahsoka (11 ABY), right? Baylan may be a couple years older? Ray Stevenson was 58 when he passed, fwiw.
So yes, he is basically the same age in the story. Would love some more Baylan back story, but I don't think we're going to get much of anything with only 2 episodes left. Could be a pretty good opportunity for a SW video game though.
Sure hope so. I thought it was weird they kept talking about their brother/sister dynamic but then again it is Star Wars soooo.
the vibes I picked up in rebels were Ezra had the hots for Sabine but Sabine saw Ezra as the annoying little brother
I'd say it was weird to have Ezra/Sabine hook up after starting the show with a hologram talking about how they were like brother/sister, but this is Star Wars so it wouldn't even register on the scale compared to the Luke/Leia stuff.
When was the last time Ezra even saw a woman. I bet he has weighed the pros and cons of hooking up with those crab turtles.
Ahsoka is a “confirmed” bisexual so don’t count her out. When the baby turtle fraggle crab in that hammock starts using the force we know why.
What age are Darth Bae, Sabine, and Ezra supposed to be? Mid 20s? Ezra and Sabine were teenagers at the end of rebels still right?
I always thought Sabine was like mid 20s in Rebels, she honestly looks younger in this show than in the cartoon
Ezra and Luke Skywalker are the exact same age, share a birthday. Idk if anything was ever said, but it always seemed to me that Sabine was a few years older than Ezra. Shin seems younger, in her 20s?
Ezra and Luke are 18 when ANH kicks off, Thrawn just said it's been 10 yrs, so Ezra's 28. So you're correct
The (canon) book Star Wars: Timelines says Sabine was born 21 BBY, so that would put her age at ~32. Ezra was born in 19 BBY like Luke (one day before Luke & Leia, apparently) and would therefore make him ~30.
The internet tells me the coffins Thrawn was loading onto the Chimera is almost exactly the same as the coffin Yaddle was buried in in Tales of the Jedi.
2 points I still have no idea what Baylan's goal is and am 100% intrigued by it. He's my favorite new character in Star Wars canon since Disney bought the franchise Two more episodes does not feel like near enough time to wrap this up. Feels like a massive cliffhanger is coming
Thrawn escapes and leaves Ahsoka, Ezra, Sabine, Bae, Baylon, and Huyang to hang out with the fragglecrabs in another Galaxy till they die. Except for Huyang, he’ll live 25K more miserable years.
I still don't really know the how the timelines between this and Mando line up. When Ahsoka fought Morgan in Mando, that has to be AFTER this Ahsoka season, right? I didn't think Ahsoka left her alive after that fight, but there was no indication either way I guess. Maybe Morgan told her all about Thrawn and Ahsoka just let her go, but that doesn't seem right. So my thinking is that this season they all get back to our familiar Galaxy Far, Far Away, then Thrawn disappears to consolidate his power and troops. Ahsoka hunts down Morgan and finds her as a magistrate on that planet, and she comfronta her to find out where Thrawn currently is. Thoughts?
They’ve all said this takes place the same time as Mando 3. Ahsoka hunting Morgan is why she was a captive in episode 1.
Goddamn. So much cool shit has happened that apparently my brain actually melted. Completely forgot about the breakout by Baylan and Shin
