I play the shit out of xenoverse 2, spent a lot of my childhood trying to keep up with the story on on Cartoon Network, RIP
Between chrono trigger and DBZ that man had a major influence on my love for anime and video games. Probably the main reason for popularizing anime in the US
Oh man, he was a part of DragonQuest as well? Loved that as a little kid. So is he considered the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby of anime?
We’re about 10 episodes in. Having fun, kid is getting pissed when I explain the science a minute before the show does. Just had a nice 30 minute conversation on the theory of relativity and Interstellar. He misses One Piece.
“Wanna guess what sodium bicarbonate is!?!?!?” ‘no’ “ITS BAKING SODA! We have it in the cupboard!!!” ‘dad, can we watch something else’
The 30 minutes a week I’ve been spending on Frieren is going to be hard to fill. How was it so much better than everything else? Any how did we get 28 episodes in a season? Suspect like good US series, we’re on break for 2-3 years
Konosuba, MHA, Demon Slayer, spice and wolf. I haven’t watched mushoku tensei yet but I’ve heard great things. It’s on my list of things to watch
Nice. Konosuba and Demon Slayer are both great. If you haven’t started Mushoku Tensei yet, I’d temper your expectations a bit or at least understand it’s going to start weird sexually. I had to nope out
Goblin Slayer’s opening was brutal and hard to watch, but I thought it added to the horror of goblin encounters as a weak adventurer or normal person. Mushoku is just pervy. I tried to hold my nose but just couldn’t after a while
Solo Leveling does something with the protagonist that I never thought an anime would ever do. Took it up a notch for me.
Mushoku Tensei, to my mind, is the most “realistic” depiction of an isekai concept I’ve seen. That includes the depiction of the actual nature of a protagonist who was a perverted NEET shut-in in his Japanese life like many isekai protagonists. He wants to be different and works towards it, but that aspect of him still comes out in the new life, especially when he’s young, and the show doesn’t flinch from it. PaulKemp I know exactly what you mean, but it is crucial to the story development. The show is so rich in development that it’s worth it, imo.
Fair take, and I get the argument. I’m a sucker for Isekai, so I give them all a try and will overlook a lot. Mushoku and Shield Hero are two that are mostly well-received I couldn’t get into personally
If you can deal with some fleeting-but-a-bit-bad horniness, Undead Unluck gets pretty good fairly quickly
Caught up here. I definitely get the pervy stuff that turned people off, it's pretty realistic like you said but it felt almost unnecessary at times. The writing does a good job setting up the harem, all of the girls in their own way have been ones you want to cheer for. Was surprised they went the route they did so quickly to end season 2 part 1.
Have you read the manhwa? would highly recommend. Season 1 of the anime covered about 45 chapters out of 200 from the manhwa.
