Anyone use Battery Tenders? I need one, curious which amp to go with. I just need maintaining as my battery dies if it sits for longer than a week.
What are opinions of a professionally done ceramic coating? Worth it? A shop I like is offering a 7 year ceramic protection for $899
Have a vin on the c8 and build date of the 24th. Should have it within the next couple of weeks. High wing was constrained but I ordered one elsewhere and will have it installed
Nice, I saw an orange one with black stripes outside Chiquola a few weeks ago and wondered if it was yours. Post pics once it’s delivered.
Can you check the RPO for delivery to the Corvette Museum? We were just there last week and I gotta admit, it was pretty badass to see people driving them out after getting the "tutorial" from the staff. Beautiful part of the country and would be fun to drive them around there. "tutorial" being them cranking it up and then we got to enjoy the sounds of the LS
I paid 2500 for 9 layers, wheel, and window. Lifetime warranty if I do yearly maintenance ($400). I love everything about it. Have done it on 3 cars.
Museum delivery went up $500 this year to I believe $1495 and you still pay destination on top of that. It would be cool but too much time involved. Dealer didn’t have a clue. They thought it was built since it had a vin but I knew that wasn’t true and called the “corvette concierge” number to get the build date. No fun waiting
Love it. Very fun to drive. Have had it 6 weeks or so? No regrets. Here is the MME after getting it back from PPF + ceramic. Here is the wagon after I got the BMW M big brakes put on it. Getting some new wheels on the wagon in a few weeks. I’ve done a fair amount of tweaks to that car: tune, exhaust, intake, lowering springs, wheels, M interior components, the M brakes, black kidney grills. All with an OEM+ vibe. With the addition of the Mustang, turning it into a summer car. It’s got low miles and BMW isn’t bringing wagons here anymore (for the time being). And performance wagons have always been an enthusiast car. If they brought the M3 wagon here it would be bad news for my savings.
Are the wheels oem or after market on the bmw? Did you have the calipers painted yellow? Which model is that? I believe they are bringing the m5 wagon (touring) to the US market in 2025
They are BMW wheels, but not stock. Stock was silver. The calipers were not painted, I upgraded the full kit to the BMW perf ones. Choice of yellow, orange, or red calipers. Big dimpled rotors. Car is the 330i x-drive with the M Sport package. Had to get it from a dealer in Texas and have it shipped. Wasn’t a single black with m sport on the west coast when I bought it. Ordered some Vossen wheels. 20s. Current ones are only 18.
Nice. Which center caps are you planning to use? I’ve been doing a ton of research on wheels to get staggered 20s for summer use for my m550i. OEM will be on in winter.
Slightly undecided on the caps. Went with standard Vossen ones. Would like to check with my shop on whether the blue is a good BMW blue match
Wow that’s a steal for fully forged Vossen wheels. I’m with you in that I’m not sure I love that style (but don’t hate it) but also not sure clear would look good on black with all of your black trim and grill. If anything, they certainly would’ve stood out!
Worst guy to ask on that. While I greatly enjoy cleaning the exterior (part of why I love ceramic), I haaaate dealing with interior. I have my shop do all that a couple times a year. I time one along with the annual ceramic maintenance (along with engine bay detail) and then one other time half way along.
My biggest hang up was the spokes not going all the way to edge. Felt like I’d be losing the visual pop of moving to 20s
Anything that's a leather cleaner/conditioner will be fine. I did like the one-step Lexol wipes, although the containers seemed to dry out easily. That was after griping that I couldn't find the cleaner and conditioner separately...but now they have that again and I picked up two.
I use Merguiers Quick interior spray for cleaning. I will also use a leather conditioner about once a year, i just bought the BMW branded stuff from the dealership, it was like $15.
Keis motorsports brought it in for an autoshow. Its it rumored in the forums that it might have a limited release in the US in ‘24 with a Competition spec
hopefully you have an extra $100k laying around as well. If they were to release an M3 touring, it would go way above MSRP
Thanks. I’ve heard good things about Chemical Guys products but you can never be sure. I don’t want the leather to start looking non-OEM early in its life.
Chemical Guys interior cleaner. Get a thick blush makeup brush. Spray interior heavily, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then brush it. Spray again and the wipe with microfiber cloth.
To be fair GM doesn’t own the museum so they are shipping it there just like they send it to a dealer.
Crossposting from the new car thread... Anyone have a car with air suspension, particularly aftermarket/OEM replacement Arnott bags? I'm fairly certain the two I installed recently both blew out at the same time yesterday. Big pop and then the car started dropping. Got malfunction warning on the dash, then the "car rising" after trying to start it up again (pump runs, nothing happens). Very disappointing since they mislabeled one side and I had to have them overnight me one of these anyway. I've always heard they are great quality, but...
Hopefully since it's both, you just had a connection come loose or blow out or something Did you install it yourself?
I did install myself. All connections were good from the valve block to pump to bags. They're actually very straightforward to install: take the wheel off, remove the old bag (you can puncture it to speed things up), pull it out, then get the new one, compress it a little, put tape or gum over the inlet, then install. Remove tape/gum, connect air line, seat spring, wait. I did the other one a month ago and it was super simple. This one was even easier. But it's as if both have exploded.
