Sike. They wanted to fill ground level request so they moved us to Aruba 55 besides Riviera Skyliner. Going to hit up their quick service.
just drug the kids out of it. They would have stayed all night. Glad it opened back last week before the trip.
I will forever argue that the pool at your WDW result is a necessary part of your vacation to disney. For both relaxation purposes and because the pools are just that awesome. Where the fuck else can you go down a water slide that is coming out of an old Spanish fort? This kind of stuff doesn't exist at the Hyatt Regency or wherever. That kind of stuff is fun and kids love it.
While yes a lot of places around WDW are building mini water parks at this point. Seems to be a trend.
Oh for sure. But most of those places are building generic looking mini water parks. I'm saying for that 6-10 year old age range, the money that Disney puts into themeing more than makes up for the better slides these hotels are building. The era of the rectangle pool with zero amenities is over. Most newer homes have better pools than that.
There’s a national shortage on lifeguards is my only guess. I know most of the Chicago Park District pools got f’d last year for this reason and heard it may be the same this summer. Lil man works the water park close to us as a lifeguard and they never have enough and have to close slides for parts of the day due to shortages.
Disney hasn't run two both water parks open at the same time since the beginning of Covid. I haven't been in 20ish years to either but I'd guess that the biggest issue is that Sea World and Universal have both opened brand new water parks in the last 5ish years that blow both parks out of the water. So I'd guess demand is way down for the two Disney Water parks and makes it so they only run one at a time
We did Blizzard Beach in February and I'd guess that's the case. I imagine it's more crowded during the summer, but with all the resort pools people have other options. They likely don't have enough attendance to justify both parks open at the same time. Hell, they're practically giving away the water park tickets with many of the ticket packages (at least that was the case when we went, which is why we went to BB).
So taking the kids to the Animal Kingdom most of the day Saturday, then dinner at the Rodeo Round-up BBQ at 7...first time eating there.....
I didn't realize how much the Marriot World Center upgraded their pool situation. I used to stay there all the time as a kid in the 90s and thought the pool was awesome then. Now I see that they essentially have a full waterpark on property.
Those two bedroom apartments are a bit on the older side, but damn they are good value and 5 minutes outside of WDW.
The JW attached to the ritz also built a slide tower. They already had a lazy river. Encore resort has a really solid water park too. Themed pools are great but my 7 year old just wants to go on big slides too. Gaylord Palms is another.
Did magic kingdom 9-3/4 Sunday and remembered why I never never do that (friends were going all day so we stayed as long as we could)
Take off all loose articles, I can't stress this enough people. Not you specifically, but goddamn, the biggest reason rides go down is hats, glasses, and other items flying off. Cast members then have to shut the shit down and walk the ride to retrieve it and clear the ride path. What a pain in the ass for riders and workers alike when you could simply take off anything that could possibly fly off.
Love that the Velocicoaster line is all over loose articles like that. Phones, wallets, etc. all going in the lockers and then go through a metal detector to make sure everything is in the locker before stepping on the ride.
we are going to Poly tonight from CBR. Is it worth it to take a bus to MK, then resort loop to Poly, or should i just suck it up and drive?
Decided to drive. That was pretty easy. Got a window table for fireworks at ohana. First time eating dinner there. I enjoyed it but Jesus that pricing lol. packing up at CBR this morning and headed to AKL to finish out the trip there. going to miss this building. Feels like I’m pretty much staying at riviera since we are in the building closest to it. Primo Piatto has been a great QS. I’ll hear the Skyliner hum in my sleep for weeks probably.
Had the oddest experience today. MK just felt insanely slammed, yet all of the ride times were on the lower side.
Probably get some specific details at D23 in August (this is just placeholder renderings), Avatar is a guarantee. The Avatar rendering that leaked from the city council meeting a couple weeks ago makes it looks like will be different than at AK
Tianas bayou adventure looks pretty close to done on the outside. The overgrowth facade looks really really good
I wonder if the footprint of the Nintendo world part is larger than the one in California. Looks like the same layout/design but the one in LA is so damn cramped. Donkey Kong country looks cool.
Layout looks slightly different and more spread out, and the inclusion of DK Country absolutely makes the footprint bigger.
Yeah it’ll definitely be bigger than LA and probably will have plenty of room for future expansion, especially with Zelda and Pokémon IP still available.
I wish they were able to incorporate a ride in-between Nintendo world and the other parks.....that would have been cool.
