If I'm reading it correctly, a prison nurse showed up for first day of work. Prison guards forced her to strip search to go to work. Prison guards argued it was reasonable bc she wasn't a "known prison employee" bc they didn't personally know her. Judge ruled that "known prison employee" means knowing that she's an employee, not that they they personally know her.
Jesus. Easy for me to say because I’m not in that situation, but I wish people would stop calling the cops for issues like this.
I was told by my doctors on different occasions not to call the cops if I was having a mental breakdown. It’s (imo) literally the worst thing you can do.
Yeah. I was curious if there was a typical recommendation, like what would they recommend if I come across someone I don't know and they're having some type of crisis and I don't know the doctors/family members.
I hate this thread and I don't stay up to date on posts. I did want to post this as some of these pos fuckers don't skate 6 former Mississippi law officers to be sentenced for torture of 2 Black men Six former Mississippi law enforcement officers who pleaded guilty to a long list of state and federal charges for torturing two Black men for hours will be sentenced by a federal judge starting Tuesday. The former law officers admitted in August to subjecting Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker to numerous acts of racially motivated, violent torture. In January 2023, the group of six burst into a Rankin County home without a warrant and assaulted Jenkins and Parker for hours. Once inside, they handcuffed the two innocent victims together and poured milk, alcohol, and chocolate syrup over their faces. The officers then forced them to strip naked and shower together to conceal the mess. They mocked Jenkins and Parker with racial slurs, shocked them with stun guns, and — after a mock execution went awry when Jenkins was shot in the mouth — devised a coverup that included planting drugs and a gun. False charges stood against Jenkins and Parker for months. Jenkins suffered a lacerated tongue and broken jaw from his gunshot wound and still has trouble speaking and eating. Months before federal prosecutors announced charges in August 2023, an investigation by The Associated Press linked some of the deputies to at least four violent encounters with Black men since 2019 that left two dead and another with lasting injuries. May the judge show these heartless criminals no mercy.
I'm going to assume every cop enforcing that was a massive dork in hs and is taking out their frustration of not being invited to things like that on the kids that are doing it now.
Residents Shocked As Small Town Suspends Its Entire Police Force Residents of a small town in Maryland are shocked and confused after their entire police force was suspended. Officials in Ridgely, a town of 1,600 people located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, told residents they were suspending the officers with pay amid an investigation of potential wrongdoing by the Office of State Prosecutor. They did not provide any details about the investigation or what the officers were accused of doing. "What's very concerning is that they didn't communicate with us in an honest and open way," Laura Cline, a longtime Ridgely resident, told Fox News. "Treat us with respect. We're adults — thinking, rational adults who deserve the truth." Officials said that the Caroline County Sheriff's Office will respond to emergency calls, and the town will have assistance from the Maryland State Police as well. "Given the recent events involving the Ridgely Police Department, the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the Caroline County Commissioners and the Commissioners of the Town of Ridgely, are committed to providing continuous police services to the town's citizens, ensuring their safety remains a top priority. Together with the Maryland State Police, the Sheriff's Office will guarantee seamless and uninterrupted police coverage within the town limits of Ridgely," the Caroline County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
In the UK the police don’t even respond to trespassing. Utterly insane that two people get shot while police shoot a dog while responding to the highest of crimes; being somewhere you probably shouldn’t be.
no idea how old this footage is (or if it's been posted itt before) but man.... y'all have some scary ass pigs out there in "real" amerika edit: further research suggests this might be fake Spoiler edit 2: or it is real, bc this guy appears to be an actual cop Spoiler
Issuing amber alerts isn’t safe either anymore. Shot and killed the teen for doing as they told her to.
This is amazing https://news.yahoo.com/report-offers-details-firing-palm-090358303.html Cop got fired over this and a bunch of other shady shit she was doing, I think one of which was using her police power to stalk her ex-wife.
level 2 yukifujita ·19 hr. ago·edited 8 hr. ago Brazilian attorney here. Found the case, still ongoing. It was investigated by the police but last week the DA forwarded it to court martial (the cop is military). 116 pages, can't bother to read the whole thing, but the cop alleges that the conversation we see in the video was of the victim taunting him instead of explaining what he was doing (doubt it). Here is an excerpt of the cop's statement: (THE COP) stated that on the date of the incident, he was off duty around 6:36 PM and informed the most senior officer on day duty that he was going out, without specifying where; he took his car and went to the bakery about 100 meters from the battalion to buy bread; he was in line waiting to be served behind a lady, when a young man accompanied by a woman holding a baby approached the counter. It was then that he said, ".. dude, you cut in front of me, it's a matter of manners... didn't you see me here?.." The young man replied aggressively, "... yeah I saw, so what...? Do you know what I came here to do...?". After that, the young man muttered, ".. go f*** yourself, you're crazy!" and made hand gestures implying that he was out of his mind; he approached to make sure he had heard correctly and said, "... what did you say?" The woman accompanying him grabbed his arm and said, "... honey, calm down...!", the young man then murmured something very softly; believing the young man was about to attack him, and in an effort to avoid a possible assault, he elbowed the young man, who then stepped outside the establishment, not seeing where he hit him; he paid and left. Outside the bakery, he observed that the young man's face was bleeding, and yet he continued to utter threats and swear words, offending him and threatening him by saying, "... you don't have nine lives...", and took a photo of his car's license plate; the young man's wife said that the young man's father was a policeman and he would be in trouble; he took his cell phone to call the emergency medical service (SAMU) and for support through 190, the emergency number, as the young man had left the scene; at 6:49 PM, he returned to the battalion, documented the incident reporting to his superior, went home, and later returned to give his statement to the Military Police Justice Prosecutor (PPJM). Two days after the incident, he began to receive death threats and videos of armed criminals via WhatsApp, from the phone numbers (CENSORED PHONE NUMBER), and (CENSORED PHONE NUMBER), and sought the military police protection system (PM Victim). He wishes to clarify that he exceeded the use of force, however, he acted in self-defense to prevent a possible aggression.
