Is Mancini getting traded? Hope he doesn’t because he’s great for the locker room but it’s all I keep reading.
Also of course Kevin gausman leaves the O’s and becomes an amazing pitcher. Same story with arietta etc. amazing.
Late on the draft talk but I'm really hoping we take Druw Jones. And what a run these boys are on. I knew I should have gone to the fucking game tonight. Floppy hat night and a come back. Damn.
Team is incredibly fun to watch right now. I’ll eat the crow on the pitching staff…they have been way way better than I anticipated
Unless there's a real return for Mancini or anyone else, wouldn't mind just keeping them at this point and trying to develop a winning culture. Mancini is a good hitter but he's a like a 1-2 WAR player on an expiring contract, we're not getting much for that. Bautista was an absolutely crazy find
I’m going to Baltimore this weekend but for Arsenal. May make an August trip, so pumped about this season
Had a lovely weekend but man it was dead yesterday even with like 60,000 fans at the Arsenal game tonight. City needs the Os to be relevant again, seems to be in a lot worse shape than my last trip.
Rays 6th best prospect(needs TJ surgery) and Astros 12th isn’t a bad return for Trey Rutschman is incredibly good, if Gunnar lives up to hype then that will be a great 1-2 punch and have other great hitters in the pipeline
5 games over .500 and Rutschman is a machine. Atmosphere looked great for 30th anniversary of opacy, even Mussina came back. Elias said recently they're going to spend some this winter, fun times ahead hopefully.
Yesterday was impressive how we got to Fried. Starters are coming along of late. Need it for the month of may. Prior to this series with the Braves, we had 22 straight games against > .500 opponents. Including 6 straight against the best in NL (Braves) followed by best in baseball (Rays). Fun stuff.
Why didn't they go to the best reliever in the league so far this year, Cano has been unhittable so far
yet the results are still incredible Hitting and bullpen great so far this year. Starting pitching and fielding hasn't been.
Cowser, Westburg, Kjerstad, and Holliday have been killing it so far this year. Awesome start to the year organization wise but would have liked the W tonight.
Waiting for Cano to have a rough outing but his stuff is just filthy Looks like we're gonna have another #1 overall prospect. He's 2-2 since this tweet as well
Pulled 2 wins out of our ass Just searched Baltimore Orioles and my man SugarShaun had some serious hate Yeah, Baltimore stole the Browns but don’t get the extreme Oriole hate Bless up
Oddly enough, not Ravens related. As a kid, I got really into Lou Gehrig and hated Cal with a passion for breaking his streak
Heading to Camden yards tomorrow for the first time in a long time. Wanted to head down a bit early and get lunch before the game. Anyone have any recommendations? Don’t want to stray too far from inner harbor probably
I hadn't been to Baltimore in a minute till last summer when Arsenal had a game at M&T. Covid/Orioles sucking/riots/etc. have taken a toll on the harbor area it seems. Hope this team in coming years can build up the area again. Wanna do a summer weekend of games(hotel prices kinda suck) and kinda busy summer, might wait till playoffs Hope we can get Grayson right. All the talent in the world but keeps hanging pitches, especially when he's frustrated. Gunnar will be fine
Has been infuriating me he’s been in the middle of our order the last couple games and we didn’t pinch hit for him with Santander yesterday
What a fucking week for Gunnar He’s just full throttle and I love it. OPS is somehow higher than Adley’s now and 2nd behind Hays. Hays also an incredibly underrated player. Mountcastle and Mateo need to get their shit together, especially Mountcastle. That obp for a first baseman is fucking brutal
Mounty is in a major rut. Most of his ABs are non competitive lately. Mateo is what he is. His start was the anomaly and now he’s just back down to the norm. I love what he brings but he’s a liability with the bat and always will be.
It’s a delicate clubhouse balance with the young guys coming up and keeping some of the leadership of the vets around. We saw the slump Gunnar had to work through basically all season until the last 2 weeks. Guys like Urias and Mateo I think likely provide a lot to the clubhouse for the young guys, but it’s also hard to stomach watching these guys hit .200 with what we have in the pipeline.
