I mean yeah they money whipped league two and always were. The team they have won’t get top half in league one
So they toil for a couple years in league 1 while they get their finances back in order and finally finish the Kopp addition before making the push to the championship with a roster more in line with what is needed.
I’ll be interested to see how they operate when they get to the championship. Seems like rob & ryan each put in $1m and that’s been the extent of their investment almost every champ team that is successful operates at pretty substantial loss maybe they’ll be able to get enough ad revenue from US companies to make up for that
the team is definitely operates at a loss. Pretty sure something came out recerntly that the club owes both of them a few million dollars each.
Pretty fucking cool story Hope the fans don't turn into cunts if they take a while to get promoted again
Sounds like a bunch of their defenders are free agents. Josh Knight, plays for the posh, is a free agent after the season and has been one of the better defenders in league one. A move to QPR collapsed at the deadline for him. Wrexham should offer him £10k/week.
Can’t be any worse than their first year in National League. They’ll be mid table which is fine. The jump from National to League 2 and League 2 to League 1 is much less arduous than League 1 to Championship. Them staying there for multiple seasons isn’t indicative of failure for the club.
It’s also just a minor stake right? I figured this was a money move more than actually getting involved.
I’m bummed we only got 2 fixtures against Tranmere but at least in moving to League 1 the rivalry with Shrewsbury Town renews.
Lainton was the goalie from season 1 who kept getting hurt. Tozer was the Center back and former captain who was known for the insane throw in's into the box.
Will be interesting to see how they handle players who are making a bunch of money who aren’t good enough for league one. I guess loan deals where they pay a big portion of the salary Their shitty defenders bring out of contract is clutch for them
Hulu is telling me I didn’t watch the final episode of season 2, guess I missed that one. Looks like it’s about balloon Notts County so did I really miss it though? Ha, we love to crack wise around here.
How much can they keep overpaying vs their competition till financial fair play comes into the picture?
it's based on revenue so prob a lot derby was capped at paying players 10k/week and a bunch of their players were on that and they were second relatively comfortably.
