Can someone explain why the women's World Cup is being played on turf? Simply doesn't make sense to me. The commentator was just saying its 130* on the turf right now. Also all the turf burn.
Is the media refocusing on the Hope Solo story for any reason other than the US playing their first match tomorrow? I haven't read anything new other than the half-sister giving her side of the story, which doesn't seem all that different from what was already out there.
After having seen a few games I have to say the fields are in impeccable shape. All seem well maintained, clean cut and a perfect shade of green. Hats off to the organizers!

The city prosecutors have filed an appeal (apparently that is pretty rare and required administrative approval from the city) and oral arguments will begin in September. Well you don't become the worldwide leader in sports by not asking the tough questions!

I don't think Hope Solo is hot if you just saw her out. The athlete thing works in her favor. And even then, doesn't really do it for me.
