It felt like a series finale. Wonder if they added all the post script stuff last minute knowing they weren’t renewed.
I texted my buddy about it. They found out a few weeks ago that they weren't getting renewed. The strike killed this shows momentum going into season 2.
I really liked the show, but seems like they got away from the Magic crazy sex stuff and just made him out to be a guy who spent all his time on the phone with his long distance girlfriend. Wonder how that happened.
Just finished last night. What a shitty way to end. It was a year the Lakers didnt even win, no Magic/HIV, no resolution to Dr. Buss's lawsuit and shit, etc. I enjoyed it and hope it comes back. I saw it was the #1 trending show on MAX too
Minority opinion here: Loved season 1 - it was just great - 8.5/10 Did not like season 2 - too much on Buss fucking up his personal life and Jeanie having to be the parent. Got away from the interpersonal team dynamics that made season 1 so good - the Larry Bird stuff was the only saving grace (or it'd have been a 3/10) - 4.5/10 Glad they didn't renew it, watched ep. 7 just to finish it, there is nowhere good for them to go now ...
I enjoyed the show but I think they messed up with the inconsistent pacing and focusing on Magic as a primary story driver, he's far less interesting than Buss and Kareem.
