Giroud sucks, Santi has been bad and Alexis' one dimensional play on the left is not exactly a secret at this point. What a limp finish
The only times all game we had space was when Van Aanholt left his area vacant. The players didn't all of a sudden all turn to shit, there's nowhere to go with the ball. To make matters worse, Wenger thought he didn't have to play a DM with a ridiculously high line and gave them 4-5 great chances. This is the same bullshit we started the year with. All this talk of us improving and best case is 75 points, that's not improvement.
If the scheme is sit on the bench for 60-75 minutes, come on and look threatening but not actually score, he's nailing it.
Theo looked great today. i dont get why so many in here wants to sell him, but agree to disagree i guess.
I came back around on him a few weeks ago... We need to add, not subtract talent. They clearly provides something different than anyone currently on our roster. I highly doubt he goes anywhere & want him to stay Spoiler Unless selling him allows us to add Reus
yea i agree he adds a more direct threat. I'm not saying he should start every game but theres def room for him.
Theo's on £100k/week wages. For that kind of money, we could get a lot more production. I don't hate him, I just think there are better ways to spend that money.
Fine with keeping theo on the same wage hes been on. Poldi and Diaby coming off the books this summer will be a healthy enough salary for a new player. Remember, we'll have certainty of CL group money Sunday rather than 72 hours before the window closes this year too.
I don't see how we have room for another attacker unless Theo is sold or give up on Welbeck. Too many players and not enough clear cut starters. Alexis is the clear LW then you can't have 5 guys for the 2 other positions with all of them wanting to be the starter. Wenger wanting to fit Ramsey and Wilshere in whichever way possible too isn't helping things.
That's pretty much it in a nut shell. Need to buy a clear cut starter which I guess needs to be defined. I guess as; better than Welbeck, Giroud or Santi at this point.
No we can't. I mean, we throw 60k at shit players who haven't played in years (Diaby). Walcott will go to a direct competitor, we shouldn't let 10k create another Ashley Cole situation.
Problem is Arsenal don't have a clear cut No. 1 striker, I don't mind Welbeck because he is adaptable and works hard, Giroud can only play one spot. I don't know how Arsenal can fix the problem because of the dearth of strikers in the world, but it is hard to see Arsenal winning the league with Giroud as the main guy IMO.
Cazorla is 31 and might be a good time to shift him to Atletico, you could see Cazorla, Rosicky, Diaby, Arteta, and Flamini all gone this summer.
Santi leaving kills our creative depth and he never gets hurt. Selling him to cater to Jack is bullshit. Ramsey and Santi should rotate with Santi playing some 10 too and Jack should play the Rosicky role whenever he chooses to be fit to play. Buy Schneiderlin or comparable and you have a strong DM duo. I just hope we solve 2 of our 3 problems although I'm not sure Ospina is a big problem, 3 of 3 is impossible with Wenger.
Don't forget Poldi. Flamini £65k. Diaby £65k. Poldi £75k. Rosicky £85k. That's £290k/week right there without increasing the wage bill. Would pay for two Alexis/Ozil level players (not counting the transfer fee). With enough left over to pay the difference in wages for Cech over Szcz. Or we could just offer that money to Reus and use whatever's left over for depth.
Maybe I should have rephrased that. For that money (I just looked its actually £110k/week) we could pay a player that would have a bigger overall impact on the team than Theo. I don't necessarily mean at the same position. Theo at his best is a 12-15 goal/ year player who doesn't defend and can't really play through the middle, despite what he thinks. He could play up top in a 4-4-2 but we don't play that way, and Alexis would be better at that anyway.
I agree and I would take it. There is value to 12-15 goals a year and it is worth £110k a week in this market plus he is homegrown.
I'd keep Santi for the reasons you outlined, but if Wenger wants to make room for Wilshere/Ramsey, I would prefer the clear out to selling Wilshere. The injuries are starting to subside and maybe that is luck or maybe the new physio is making a difference. Schneiderlin or Kondogbia is a must this summer, Wenger must get one. Mourinho isn't going to sell Arsenal Cech, I'm cool with Ospina. Mourinho wanting Theo or Ox in exchange just shows how much he wants to troll Arsenal over this deal. Isn't going to happen. Martinez had an impeccable loan spell apparently also.
Well, you are more confident than I am that we will see the best of Theo, and I hope you're right. I think he'll be more like a right-footed Podolski with more speed and less finishing ability, but I will cede the point to you. Here's the question that we haven't asked: will Theo want to stay? My guess is yes but I could see him wanting to leave.
This would be the greatest transfer in the history of Europe. Barca's like, fuck you Real we can get our own Welshman who had an amazing season or two for about twice what he should be worth.
He's ramping up after a major knee injury. I think, based on the new talent added since he got hurt, he's done exactly what was expected... Played the "super-sub" role as he readjusted & regained his legs/confidence/timing. He's faced with a realatively simple decision. He can leave on similar wages to another top 5 club & face the same playing time issues, or start at a mid-table club and earn less. I don't think he wants to or needs to leave
I forgot about that. Vidal actually makes some sense, assuming he can play alongside Ramsey/Jack... & having the same agent as Sanchez will not hurt our cause
Had a dream that Szczesny let the other goalie score on him and the whole crowd attacked the pitch, happy to wake up and see that he's not starting. Hopefully Ospina gets the final too.
