Yeah, Cech is probably the best signing we could make as far as upgrading a position. Not sure that Schneiderlin is that big of an upgrade on how Coquelin has played(we do need another though) or confident we'll find a striker/RW better than what we have.
I don't disagree that he's a massive upgrade over Szcz and Ospina but is there not anyone better out there than a guy that's 33 and basically hasn't played this year?
IMO he was replaced by one of the few in the world's that's better than him. Still has at least a few years left in the tank as a keeper.
Few thoughts on today 1) the FFP relaxation basically fucks the Arsenal model. One of the reasons why Arsenal was able to get Alexis was because of the FPP restrictions on the oil clubs. 2) It's amusing seeing Liverpool as a selling club similar to pre-Ozil Arsenal sans the CL. They are fucked more than us.
Platini is such a pussy, saw it coming though. Poor PSG and City, UEFA holding them back so much by only allowing them a 60 million net spend. Think EPL will be fine for the most part with the TV money, City is going to massively inflate everything again though.
Always knew the valuation was there overall, but I would have never guessed we hit this list. I just would have never guessed we had enough players on wages so high. AVERAGE WEEKLY WAGE 1. PSG: $174,692 -- £111,453 -- €153,913 2. Real Madrid: $166,180 -- £106,022 -- €146,401 3. Man City: $165,343 -- £105,502 -- €145,676 4. Barcelona: $155,452 -- £99,191 -- €136,938 5. L.A. Dodgers: $154,292 -- £98,451 -- €135,929 6. Man Utd: $154,274 -- £98,439 -- €135,914 7. Bayern Munich: $147,326 -- £93,993 -- €129,780 8. Chelsea: $143,516 -- £91,574 -- €126,436 9. New York Yankees: $140,566 -- £89,681 -- €123,825 10. Arsenal: $133,658 -- £85,284 -- €117,703
Two items I found regarding the survey. They also go into some detail regarding what they need to strip from those holdings, specifically about Arsenal. My ultimate thought on the matter at a quick glance is that there is no way in hell this is accurate. We all know of those holdings reports where no one gleans any information and everyone still gets all pissed off anyhow, every year. I am going to take the Kroenke is the devil approach and say that he cooks his numbers through Arsenal. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/finance-biz/sports-salaries/ "English Premier League football wages are probably the least well known – accurately known, that is – of any sport in the world. We hope our database helps shed some light on this subject." "The intricacies of the work on the player surveys have helped inform the processes used to compile our database, but all the English football figures in the database are extracted from clubs’ annual accounts, not from those confidential surveys."
Orbinho @Orbinho 4m4 minutes ago Arsenal's win % with Jack Wilshere starting the last two seasons is 50% and 67% without him. Won just one of seven games this season.
Reversion to the mean indicates we'll win the next three games with Jack in the starting 11. I am good at maths. Also: remember Citeh
Hate this lineup, no winger/DM/slow striker. Santi has had like 1 good game in 3 months, why not rest him.
I'm ok with no Coq. No need against Sunderland. Would've rather seen Ramsey and wilshere together in the middle with Walcott wide though.
You can't play on the front foot with no speed in attack, of course Wenger didn't learn his lesson vs Swansea.
I gave up on the computer it works perfectly on my phone. same wifi too my work computer is just a piece of shit I guess.
Highlight of the half for me, the commentators incorporation of penultimate before the commercial. Can't wait for the final.
Wake up Wenger, you stubborn prick. I have zero faith of contending for a title if he's gonna be as stubborn as he's been at the beginning and end of this season. Will be lucky to beat Villa at this rate. WhoScored.com @WhoScored 12s13 seconds ago Arsenal: Have failed to score in their last 225 minutes (3 hrs & 45 mins) of action at the Emirates #afc
I just started watching at the half, but nil - nil makes us a virtual lock for 3rd, being +7 on ManU... we seem to be applying plenty of pressure & Jesus that was close to being 0-1
