He has decades of practice for this with CBB and the NBA draft. What he doesn't realize is that no one else really watches CBB anymore so he can fake it without getting too exposed as long as Russillo is there to hold his hand during those conversations. But millions of people watch even the worst CFB games every week, and he's not one of them.
Solid movie, nothing amazing. His take that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would have a better career with a different name was pretty dumb.
To be fair to Simmons, plenty of NFL people who (claim to) at least watch college tape are trying to talk themselves into Spencer Rattler over Michael Penix.
He watched the YouTube highlight videos, that’s basically like watching a season’s worth of film you guys
In fairness, if this kind of thing is frowned upon I will be forced to sit out all NBA draft conversations for the rest of my life because that is the extent of my knowledge there as well.
He's started saying that he watches the biggest college football game of the week, which I don't believe at all
I gave up watching highlights in advance of the NBA draft the year Yi made folding chairs his Washington Generals
I'm screwed this year because the guy who made all the highlight vids I watched last year that told me who was good and who wasn't got a job in the league somewhere and now I'm stuck with "_ is a problem!" type highlight videos that tell me everyone should be the #1 pick.
I used to be a big nbadraft.net guy back in the early 2000s and it doesn’t seem that site ever had any intentions of modernizing because it looks the same as it did in 2003. I was also a big Chad Ford reader and he led me astray on too many 7 foot Euros who were averaging about 3.4 points per game for their professional team. With so many Euros in contention for the number one pick this year, we need Chad back on with Bill to restore the feeling
nbadraft.net was ahead of its time. I was also a big Chad Ford fan until I grew up and realized how the game works with writers playing favorites with agents and teams they like, which exposed Ford pretty badly. Especially since they were the ones selling him the international guys who flopped before they started being awesome. Dumars used to leak everything to Ford for a while and they were really tight, which was fun when the Pistons were good and stopped being fun when they decided to stop being good.
Darko was justified since obviously the league agreed. Same goes for Nikolaz Tskitishvilli. It was when he’d have guys like Pavel Podkolzin and Macjie Lampe in the top 10 of his mock drafts and they wouldn’t even go first round that showed Chad had totally jumped the shark
I miss the days when all those Euros were being talked about and no one had any clue if they could come to the NBA the next year or had some weird contract where you had to wait 6 years or whatever.
Then you get a little older and realize "I think these agents might be using these writers to try to direct them where they want". Truly a lightbulb moment of how this stuff has always worked.
Went to the ark @ lsu game. Watching Daniels and nabors griddy all the way from the end zone to the sideline after scoring every time in the second half while an 8 year old lsu fan wore me out was a bottom 5 experience. I think Daniels is going to be great in the league
Fran Vazquez getting drafted 11th overall by the Magic and him just saying no thank you to the NBA entirely was hilarious and something I wish happened in the social media era
I read an account that Arvydas loved being a pro basketball player and partying all over Europe too much. Can't say I blame him
Bill going straight to "he's going to rape him, Jim" in the Shot Caller episode may be the end of that Tony or Chris segment. Also, why do they still insist on playing the intro to the overacting category? Don't call me lady! I bring these things to you!
Fun ad read today I went to watch my future wife run the Boston marathon and then I bit into a sausage!
The ringer has done an incredible job of syncing their gambling scandal stories over the last few weeks with their ad buys for fan duel.
I'm guessing that haralabob hasn't been on in like a year because the last time he was on he shit all over the odds on same-game parlays during the embedded ad read
knicks fans chanting for maciej lampe and then him bounding out of the crowd as a second round pick was a delightful draft moment
he’s very much anti the sports gambling boom so i would think sponsors don’t want him making appearances
Apparently Russillo turned off LSU-Iowa at halftime because not enough players could create their own shot?
Not having a registersd trademark doesn't mean you don't have a trademark, but getting a trademark on those word combinations doesn't seem likely.
Bill thinks Jokic is having one of the greatest runs ever in the history of the league. Sick observation
Wright Thompson not even on the list. I still go back and read some of my old favorites from time to time
There was not going to be much room for half those names to operate once they leaned-in (sold out) to banging out a million podcasts and nothing but NBA/NFL coverage; with the lets discuss Bill’s favorite movies exception. Probably needed to be attached to a subscription model site.
