So, my PC is complete for about a week or so now. What should I be doing with it? I already have PUBG and steam, but are there any other games that are absolute must-haves? Also, any software that I should get as well? Best antivirus software?
CSGO, Dota 2, Age of Empires HD, Battle.net for diablo 2 or 3 and Destiny 2 when it comes out. Starcraft remastered is good too. Borderlands series is awesome. I like Avast for anti-virus.
With windows 10 you can use the built in Windows defender + malwarebytes That along with safe browsing practices will keep you covered
Divinity Original Sin 2 is insane. It took me a long ass time to figure out what the hell was going on, and I'm still figuring it out, but holy shit the amount of work that went into it must have taken a decade.
Put a SoundBlaster Audigy card in my rig a few months back, was never happy with it. Also had crappy speakers that gave a ton of feedback. So I got fed up the other night, bought an Asus Xonar sound card and a decent pair of speakers with an optical connection. Problem solved, I almost wet myself with happiness. Spoiler not really, but I was happy
Divinity: Original Sin 2 Total War: Warhammer 1 Total War: Warhammer 2 I would get TW:W1 first, complete a campaign with your faction of choice, and then get TW:W2 and do the same. They are pretty close to the same game. They will be releasing an update soon that will combine the game worlds and factions into one giant map (and will do that again when 3 comes out). It's going to be fucking incredible.
Divinity Original Sin 2 has got me hooked. Consistently playing for more hours than I should into the night. It's awesome. Would be down to try co-op with people, I'm inconsistently available after 8pm on weeknights
I would love to co-op, but my life is not conducive to gaming right now. I'm lucky to get 2-4 hours a week. I plan to finish Divinity 2 sometime in 2021.
The Acer Predator XB271HU is on sale for 600 dollars. Is there a big difference between it and the Asus ROG Swift PG279Q?
Guess that's a decent point. I am actually not a fan of IPS monitors because they're far too bright even with brightness on 0, or the one i have is at least. IPS definitely has better colors but TN has deeper blacks and higher response time.
my roommate has one. he's using it currently for south park. not sure i would ever use one, would probably just buy any games you'd want to use one for on console.
I mean did you see the deal that it's $1 right now? I bought one just because how can I not... http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/5025/ICEY__Steam_Link_Bundle/ I've never even thought of getting one before, but now I'm thinking of all the indie couch games I can play with it when friends are over. edit: also just read you can refund the game in the bundle to save the $7...
Thanks for the heads up, probably gonna grab this after work today. Never needed one, but can’t pass it up for $9.00
fsck~ you played the new Dust2? The sounds are wild. I like the map a lot. Angles will take some time to get down though.
finally got my shit fixed. only had to replace the mobo and cpu. ugh. also decided to give up my chiclet kb life. really not used to this k70 yet.
Yeah I love the new look, so clean. I never really queue dust 2 for serious games, so can't say how the play has changed. FFA deathmatch on it doesn't seem as good though, might be fixed by adjusting spawns or reducing the number of people or something. I love the new sounds too, though it's weird. I think some of the volumes could be adjusted a little.
shroud has been playing that occasionally and it looks pretty awesome. been thinking about getting it.
yeah that's where i've been seeing it. impressive looking game on a lot of levels. was just curious what the gunplay and shit felt like before preordering a new ip just for beta access.
Steam Halloween sale, anyone picking up anything? So far I've gotten Transistor, Mark of the Ninja, Spelunky (how the hell did I never play that?), and Hollow Knight. As you can tell, I'm on some old school Metroidvania type shit right now. Thinking about Salt & Sanctuary as well.
On steam you find something like "activate key" and enter it, which gives you the game. When people post one like that it's a race for the fastest person to claim. That game is also free though, so I don't know what they're giving away.
I just bought Forza Motorsport 7 for the PC it is excellent IMO, definitely worth buying. My screen name is MuhBBalls, look me up
i picked it back up when they released 2.0 after like a year or more off, really digging it and this weeks patch is making some big changes too
Dead by Dawn for $10 is tempting, probably pick that up. I’m literally considering buying Fallout4 GotY for $30. I need your guidance senpai.
Fallout 4 is Def worth the 30. It's a great adventure game but a bad fallout game Dead by dawn is a maybe buy at 10. Dunno how stable the playerbase is or how long it will last
Dying Light for $18 is pretty good. or $24 for the full version with all DLC. I'm considering The Long Dark for $14.
Every couch multiplayer game I was looking at for using with the steam box is like 75%+ off. Just got a ton of them.
