The new sect of internet species who are baffled that left leaning people think Mr Beast’s YouTube videos are gross and dystopic are my new favorite people I love to hate. Not so much the 12 year olds that I assume is his core audience but the ones who are old enough that they should know better.
Do we have any Mr Beast stans on here? My foes are all on THE FAILING TWITTER.COM He seems to be trending every time I’ve been on Twitter in the last month and almost all the tweets are about people being shocked that Mr Beast isn’t a god like figure for us libtards.
He’s a very successful YouTuber who makes videos of him spending lavishly on mostly silly or philanthropic things. The recent video that caused a stir was him paying for surgery for 1,000 people to restore their eyesight with a relatively cheap surgery that was simply out of reach for people because of our tremendous healthcare system. Mr Beast himself is a good dude, from what I can tell.
Yeah it's not so much him as how his antics highlight how fucked up it is that a thousand people have to rely on the charity of one rich dude rather than living in a society where that level of medical care is provided because, well, it functions.
It's definitely an icky feeling that he's just trying to do good but also clearly also doing this to raise his profile and chase clout.

I see. At the same time, if he doesn’t increase his profile, he isn’t making as much money and can’t do as much of his poverty porn video making? I could see the concern, generally, but got damn there are so many better places to put that energy.

IIRC, one person got mad that by fixing people's eyesight, MrBeast tacitly implied it was bad to be blind and that could theoretically hurt a blind person's feelings.
Watched Aladdin for the first time with my daughter, hadn't seen it since I was a kid. Lol remember that part where the Princess was like "wait a minute- you're not rich, you poor piece of shit!" And we're supposed to identufy with her anger and sadness at being lied to? Man this culture hates poor people.

I listened to it. It was a good interview. I expect a lot of what he said will go over the heads of Pod Save listeners. I’ll ask my mom when she listens to it lol. I don’t really watch or listen to Piker but it seemed like good exposure for him.
He’s got lots of clips out there online from his stream. He’s a great representation for socialists online for the younger generation
I have nothing against him and I know he has good takes/ does good promoting leftism. But every time I watch a YT clip of him, he’s half way through making a poignant observation then just starts getting mad at his chat and it’s a huge detour. I dont get the entertainment in that but am ok just realizing it’s not for me. But - I did enjoy him absolutely clowning Tate.
his streams are brutal to watch bc of this it takes hime 40mins to watch a 12min video bc of it but I think he's great on other people streams and his podcast or his own stream once he's done with politics for the day
