Just finished up... yeah that was still enjoyable despite my overwhelming hatred for how it was done. Spoiler I'm on team the ending was uplifting. The whole game builds up through flashbacks that Ellie was on bad terms with Joel. Then you see that right before his death she was trying to work on things. Also, when she was drowning Abby she saw the guitar/peaceful vision of Joel instead of the bleeding face. I think realizing she didn't need to kill Abby for closure sort of resolved her PTSD/panic attacks. Obviously Abby and Lev made it to the Fireflies, with the new home screen and the fireflies flashing in the corner before it loads. But give me something solid on Dina. Given her track record there's a 50% chance she moved on while Ellie was gone.
Found the Abby part of the story way more interesting than the other parts, but completely agree about the timing of introducing it being bad. Also think the fear of heights is easier to present in this medium than a fear of swimming. Dina is also an all time bad video game character
For The Last of Us HBO show Pedro Pascal from The Mandalorian will play Joel: https://deadline.com/2021/02/pedro-...hbo-series-video-game-playstation-1234691935/ Bella Ramsey from Game of Thrones will play Ellie: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...hrones-breakout-bella-ramsey-to-star-as-ellie
oh most definitely. and its not rockstar tier terrible, its just not impressive. but its hard to make 3rd person gunplay "feel" good.
I would love to see them make something new first, but I also want Part 3. I would have been very happy if they never made Part 2, because the ending to the first game was just so sublime. And while I love the ending to Part 2 as well, I really do want to see how things go for Ellie after the events of Part 2
I just started playing LOU2 and holy shit this is beautiful so far. And haunting. Fucking clickers, man.
Are people saying it's not really good? I just think most people are saying what you did "solid 8.5" and not "11/10 best game ever".
Probably just a vocal minority, but idk. I don't think it was the best game ever, but I might consider putting it in a Top 10 or Top 20 list for me, personally. The original was better, but I agree with most in this thread that the game play was better in TLOU2. But I probably rate this game higher than others because I feel extra personally attached to Ellie (and Joel by extension). I spent most of my time during TLOU2 feeling very much like "Fuck Abby, all my homies hate Abby." I came around on her character a bit though. I still laughed though every time Ellie killed her when I was in those battles playing as Abby trying to kill Ellie.
So there's this virus that kills 95% of the world population and finally years later doctor's discover a potential vaccine. They do their risky work in the middle of an abdonu hospital with little supply and having to fight off infected that can kill everyone remaining. They're at the end and about to perform an operation that can save humanity. Some dude kills all the doctors. #abbywasright
There was zero guarantee they could make the vaccine as far as I’m aware. Besides, humanity sure seems to have things mostly figured out and pretty stable by the time you get to TLOU2, at least as far as the infected are concerned. Jackson is thriving, the WLF encampment is massive and well supplied. Zero reason humanity couldn’t just clean up the remaining infected and persevere. Even if there was a vaccine, so what? Somehow this small group of doctors in the Pacific Northwest will run vaccine distribution and solve the problem? lolno
All of Digital Foundry’s analysis of the TLOU Remake. Watching the 50 minute version right now and have to say, the leap in graphic performance is incredible
HBO rarely misses. It happens but it's rare. I'm pretty confident they will do this justice. I noticed a lot of scenes that look familiar to the game.
I need part 2 for the ps5 to come out. Replayed the 5 version of 1 and it looked so freaking amazing.
New trailer made for British TV dropped today, looks spectacular... Troy and Ashley are in this one...
I thought it was spectacular. Especially the first 30 minutes or whatever it was. This is what happens when the people adapting the source material actually have love and respect for the material instead of trying to twist and contort it into what they want.
