caught up on season 3 and thought it was pretty terrible. a mostly pointless season that is turning into the kind of content that it sought to make fun

haha - no the Homelander and MAGA stuff was the best part of the season. I should have clarified to not come off as a chud. The over-arching plot/storyline became just another comic book movie slop. The soldier boy arc was pointless, the Butcher/Hughie and Hughie/Starlight dynamic felt the exact same as season 2. Felt like the show was spinning its wheels a lot more than previous seasons
Fair enough. I see your point on Hughie and Starlight. I thought Anthony Starr took Homelander to all time TV character level. Lastly, I thought the “super heroification” of the story and resulting plot/action was enjoyable and consistent with how the story was developing. It is a super hero show after all. Opinions are like ass holes, but I thought this season was one of the best seasons of TV I’ve watched.
The soldier boy story was a complete waste of viewing time if you actually watch the show for a compelling story that contributes to the overall plot of the series. The vast majority of viewers at this point aren't watching this show for that. The things that happened in that waste of that soldier boy story were funny as shit and entertaining
Hard to call the Soldier Boy arc pointless considering the not so subtle hint that we haven't seen the last of him with the shot of Mallory looking at him in his neat little prison contraption.
But the point of that being pointless is that’s basically exactly where he was when the season started.
But now the CIA has him and not the FSB. BIG DIFFERENCE. Homelander probably assumes he is dead and back to not having to worry about any physical danger. I'm not a Stan of the Soldier Boy story so far but I don't think it was series ruining garbage or anything close to that.
This song is an absolute banger IMO. In this music video, you get to see SuperSonics power in action and they seem kind of meh but actually would have been perfect against Homelander. Too bad he overdosed on the roof of that skyscraper.
