Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Paramount+)

If he thought the Chris Pine movies were the best of Trek he just has the worst fucking opinion on the face of the fucking earth.... WITH THAT SAID even a broken clock is right because episode 7 and 8 were straight bangers. Holy shit

 

The two actors absolutely crushed it. Quaid I wasn't surprised about (my guy kills it in the Boys), but I had never seen Mariners voice actor in anything and she's awesome and also cute.

 

But jesus christ episode 8 was dark. Real Deep Space Nine kind of episode out of nowhere

 

Didn't care for the musical episode.

I watched it though.

 

I'm gonna have to get really really high to do a music episode. Hell I got about 5 mins into episode 8 and was like.... O yeah this isn't an episode to watch sober

there's argument that all 3 episodes are great to be high for, for insanely different reasons

Also the guy who plays M'Benga is so fucking good

 

Oh, I was very high, I caught myself fast forwarding it when the singing busted out. lol

 

Thought they did a good job with the musical episode. It was pretty unique. I'll be surprised if it doesn't get some Emmy consideration.

I knew Tawny Newsome from the Comedy Bang Bang podcast and the other CBB related podcasts before she was cast on Strange New Worlds. She is fucking hilarious. A bunch of the voice actors on Lower Decks have appeared on Comedy Bang Bang for years, which only makes me like it more. Hell Jack Quaid goes on CBB every time he has a reason to promote something. He seems cool even if he is a nepobaby.

 

At least he’s a talented nepo baby like Tim chalomet

 

Shit I actually kind of liked the musical one

 

They can shove the season finale cliffhanger up their asses.

Hate that shit.

Good episode though

I can't get enough of the Xynamorphs, er, Gorn in spacesuits. It is both hilarious and awesome.

 

But this season was amazing. Other than the zombie episode.

I'm not gonna lie, I may or may not have downloaded the music from the musical episode.

 

Show was absolutely on fire down the stretch.

 

One of the executive producers said he wanted to do 20 episodes a year. I’m only subscribed to Paramount plus for Star Trek and soccer, so they should def do that.

 

I mean that’s typically been how the old shows did it and I think they see they’ve got a good one on their hands so after the strike would be great to see them do that… now the question is would that result in less quality in the storylines

 

Even great shows like TNG had their rough spots. Like the space ghost Bevery Crusher episode ( Sub Rose ) and the one where Data is some sort of space Mayan ( Masks ).

 

I guess I wasn’t the only person streaming the soundtrack.

Just caught up god damn this show is great. The musical episode actually had a few bangers and the finale was great but fuck that cliffhanger

 

the ability to simultaneously honor and mock the source material is unparalleled. So good.
