Couple thoughts 1. glad that bitch is dead, really hated her and all of her storylines. 2. watson being mad at sherlock for random reasons is getting old and isnt interesting 3. really dont understand "go to hell sherlock"
Great episode Spoiler Minus talking to dead people in your head. I hate that story telling device. Next installment should be good. Kept on waiting for it to be Moriarty. Interested to learn about the 3 Holmes bro. Also, loved the call back to HH Holmes and his Murder Mansion
motherfuck. my pbs channel is skipping and has those staticy lines and shit every 10 seconds. the only channel that is doing it. recording the other two showings and hope it figures its shit out
Spoiler ehhh, it's only a bad device if it's cheaply used as a plot twist. I thought it was well done. Got a little dusty there when Watson and Sherlock were having the heart to heart
Truman Odin Jake Barnes i didnt much like it. or at least thought it was a B point being, sherlock legit woulda died but for a CHANCE of ms hudson finding the video. the 'game' wasnt so much of a game as it was sherlock just purposefully getting fucked up. i too dislike the plot device of seeing dead people and all that.... coupled with sherlock's hallucinations and even more pissed off on the whats real whats not sherrinford came to fuck shit uppp though. the constant head fakes of moriarty are getting annoying too, unless sherrinford has a connection to moriarty because remember, sherlock says 'i know what hes going to do' except he hasnt done anything and if he has, you fucking didnt know it, or dont know it i tend to agree with this review: http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/01/09/sherlock-the-lying-detective-review however the community at av club thought it was good: http://www.avclub.com/tvclub/sherlock-observes-doesnt-see-thrilling-overcrowded-248115
Sherlock didnt know he had met a fake cane chick so I dont think it was his intent for it to go that far. imo he recognized he had been beaten and was ready to die because of it.
skiedfrillet Yall that was fucking nuts Mycroft gets his position because he uses eurus. Eurus wanted to be bff with sherlock. Sherlock wants to play with his friend. Eurus kills his friend. Eurus convinces THE WHOLE GD ISLAND (still trying to figure this out) to let her come and go as she pleases solely because back in the day mycroft let her talk to moriority for five minutes. All of that. The waters the focus on sherlock the recordings the rooftop getting them in a room together was essentially planned. And all of it could have been prevented had sherlock figured out eurus' puzzle 30 something years back.. just GO IN HER ROOM and hang out.
I really liked it. It satisfied my criticisms after the first episode that everything was so heavy and based on big national security things. I liked it was more about Sherlock being forced to use his deductive reasoning ect. You pretty much covered it all in your post.
and mycroft telling him the reason WHY he deduces everything is because that very first song eurus sang that he tried to solve. fucked him up so much now he has to deduce everything never figured out how eurus was able to get cloverton's daughter's letter but whatev
Nothing yet. But considering Cumberbatch is about to get more heavily involved in marvel, I think it's safe to assume that will serve as a finale of sorts, for now. Thought that was really good.
I enjoyed the scrnes with Mycroft, Sherlock, and Watson, but Eurus was much better out in the world. In general, I prefer the light-hearted episodes more. The witty banter is the foundation, not the mystery (TV show, not books).
I feel like the constant inclusion of Moriarty is a self-indictment that they killed him off too quickly. No way he should have been gone after the second season even if you didn't make him a constant presence. It's almost like if Christopher Nolan had chosen to excise Ledger's Joker from the series before his death. I know you can't make it a Sherlock v Moriarty death match, but it sucks when the show clearly peaked with his character.
What is the best way to stream season 4? I'm assuming you guys are posting spoilers so I haven't read the thread. Apologies if this has already been asked and answered.
pretty sure you can stream on the pbs website. I'm sure it's on the other illegal streaming sites as well but I don't know what they are these days.
is the belief now that Eurus talked Moriarty into killing himself after meeting with him? sort of how she had control over everyone she came into contact with at the facility
Finally had the chance to watch the last two episodes back to back. Stellar finish to the season and possibly the show. IMO this was the best possible way they could have resolved what had always been the final hurdle for Sherlock as Moffatt and Gatiss conceived him for this show; coming to grips with his humanity. Glad that the Redbeard enigma was finally cracked.
It was always Moriarty's intention to die, I think. I think he was just so bored by everything outside of Sherlock.
1. I fucking loved that episode. 2. One thing I thought was a little nice is that this episode redeemed Watson quite a bit for his past "transgressions." He was really torn up over having an e-affair before Mary died, but the reality is that I don't think he really stood any chance to say no when dealing with Eurus.
Also, not sure if anyone caught the Easter Egg in the credits. Little thing, but they had six letters in red: ANEMOI In ancient Greek religion and myth, the Anemoi(Greek: Ἄνεμοι, "Winds")[n 1] were wind gods who were each ascribed a cardinal direction from which their respective winds came (see Classical compass winds), and were each associated with various seasons and weather conditions.
