I mean I know dynkle will disagree but IMO the rate of success Stansbury had is about as good as it is gonna get at State...and lets face it if he doesn't take Sidney they probably are easily dancing this year, he doesn't lose control, and he is still the head coach. I guess their best bet is to find a coach that will cheat to bring in the talent like Stansbury, but is a little better in-game coach (which I thought Stansbury was at least decent at) or has a little more discipline.
Always thought Homer was a pretty decent guy, and Scott just fell far from the tree? Is Bryce another Scott or have I missed the boat on Homer?
I don't know about Homer but Scott has a reputation for being a huge cheat as you well know. I don't think MSU would hire somebody unless they kind of knew he was down for that sort of thing though...if they did that would be pretty damn dumb. Bryce doesn't have enough of a track record to know either way though
Scott Drew is the biggest cunt douchebag in the history of planet Earth fuck him and his dirty ass program and the dirty ass school he coaches for
True, because Stricklin has been around a long time in Starkville, and if Stansbury is staying in the AD like people are saying, the bagman is waiting and ready.
This is spot on. Fact is, there's no guarantee the next 10 years will be like the last at any job, much less the Mississippi State job. And State is finding that out the fucking hard way right now. It's OK, we at Ole Miss enjoy the basketball stability we have right now. It's nice for once.
Jeff Goodman @GoodmanCBS Mississippi State has gone with Clemson and ex-Purdue asst Rick Ray to replace Rick Stansbury, sources told CBSSports - http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/18225387/mississippi-state-hired-clemson-assistant-rick-ray
Ill be a good sport y'all give me your worst..I deserve it after this shit-tier hire that our cigar boys made
so in 2 days LSU's best player, Justin Hamiltion, declared for the draft and Trent Johnson leaves for TCU. Hamilton makes sense. He's graduating in a month, getting married this summer, and can't improve his stock really. Johnson is pretty strange, from the LSU and TCU end.
well the Trent Johnson LSU era goes down as a failure to TCU?? He must have seen the writing on the wall a year out
It makes perfect sense for him to leave. Why would he stay at LSU? He knew full well they would struggle once Hamilton decided he was leaving. A bad year, which is very likely, would lead to his firing. Stay one step ahead of the posse and go to a program that's about to be in the Big 12. It means +/- five more years of job security.
Johnson had been really trying to get out of LSU for a few years now from what I had heard for whatever reason. He pushed really really hard for the Utah job...it seemed he just wanted to get out
so he's been trying to get out since his first season when he won the SEC title? he's only been at LSU 4 years. maybe he's just a lazy recruiter and tries to bail before things get tough
yeah he was just very unhappy at LSU. I mean that seems kinda obvious with this move and no the Utah job came open before this past season I believe which would have been after his third year at LSU
I had heard that Johnson had been very unhappy at LSU for a while. Him leaving doesn't surprise me at all. I agree that he saw the writing on the wall and jumped at any chance of landing another big 6 job
He basically pulled the basketball version of the Ty Willingham. David Shaw should learn a lesson from these two not to leave Stanford when you're and have a pretty good thing going.
lot of smoke JOBIII is going to transfer from LSU and also the possibility of Hickey leaving as well. Thanks a lot liver lips. Not only were you a lazy recruiter, you're running off the few kids you did have by leaving LSU out of nowhere. If those two do in fac, leave, LSU will be lucky to win 10 games total next year. Oh how things can change so quickly
It truly is a pleasure to be in the SEC west right now with how things are going at LSU and MSU. To go along with OM, Auburn, and Arky
So State loses Dee Bost, Renardo Sidney, Arnett Moultrie, Brian Bryant, Deville Smith, Rodney Hood. They return Jalen Steele who averaged 8 points, Wendell Lewis who averaged 3 points, Shaun Smith who averaged 0.9 points, Taylor Luczak at 0.4 points, and Roquez Johnson at 0.1 points o.....m....g
Arkansas will be good next year if BJ Young returns. We get Marshawn Powell back giving us an inside scoring presence. If he stays in the draft, I think we are a 18 win team.
Didn't bj declare already? I think it will go 1. Bama 2. OM 3. Arky of course there is no divisions but still
On paper, this should be Andy Kennedy's best team that he's had at Ole Miss. Interested to see how things shake out.
Yes I am excited we lose two of the worst players in our history in Dash and Loubeau. Will only make our team better
JOB was thought to be Ole Miss' until the day he committed to LSU. If he transfers, obviously he can't come to Ole Miss, but it'd make things interesting.
