- The guy confessed. Generally there's no trial after a full confession, just a sentencing. - Oberyn actually was the one who said they don't little girls in Dorne. I actually liked the Elaria part. It showed us that it's easy to stick to your principles, until you've personally been wronged. Also helped to show the audience how Doran is not hot-tempered and quick to action like his brother.
loved Aemon breaking the tie. sad to see him off this season but I'm hoping he'll get to throw a few more bits of wisdom out on his trip with Sam. I wouldn't mind seeing a little tete-a-tete between him and Melisandre before he heads out. still one of my favorite scenes from the show.
Show Doran had more emotion in that one scene than in all his book scenes combined, which is why his "Vengeance, Justice, Fire and Blood" scene is so powerful.
Doran's "Your father was the snake and I am the grass" was one of my favorite bits of the whole books. Did anyone notice Dorne wasn't in the opening credits? I had been looking for it the past two episodes and was disappointed when it didn't show up. Then they went to Dorne anyway.
that part in the first episode this season where she purposefully pulls the sheet up to cover her tits was so obvious and terrible. there's a million ways to shoot that scene where you don't have to make it painfully clear you're not showing your tits. feels like I'm watching the redhead from True Blood have sex half a dozen times and go through painstaking movements to make sure she's covered in just such a way.
The show fans are all complaining this season is boring and they're getting tired of the mereen story line. Fuck you guys we had to read all that shit with all the fucking mereneese names. I still don't know one from the next.
I think on my re-read I'm going to just start skipping all the Dany chapters now that I've read the house of the undying.
It's gonna be fun to see how mad the show fags are this season when Danny still doesn't get to Westeros and nothing happens with the Others.
Jesus, I forgot about reading all of their names. It has been like two years, but aside from the show, I don't think I remember or could identify a single Mereneese character. As far as action is concerned, books 4 and 5 are far less exciting, which makes them a tremendous challenge for HBO to translate for a neanderthal laden crowd of meat gazers and muggles alike. Jaime's greatness and such notwithstanding, it's a bit difficult to imagine how they are going to pull it all off without losing some of the audience.
There isn't any fighting or anything exciting in this season minus the fighting pit scene, so yeah they're in for a long season.
OMG I just realized how shitty Sam and Gilly are going to be on that boat. Hopefully they just have the reveal scene with Aemon, him dying, and them arriving in Old Town. No need to have more than those scenes, but they'll do it.
Really don't like Sam, but the actor's delivery while destroying Slynt was one of my favorite things so far this season
The best part is that we probably have two more books left with her in that hell. She'll destroy the invasion force with her Dothraki and dragon and then spend 16 months overcoming an insurgency led by the brothers of the carp.
No fucking complaints if at the end of this all King Tommen, first of his name, sits the iron throne.
I feel that it makes it that much easier for me to disassociate the show from the books so i'm good with it.
I know how I feel about it I think it stupid. I think they just wanted a reason to torture newly 18 Sansa
just think about it this way - Cersei sent a worthless girl she cared nothing for to Ramsey to impersonate Arya. Littlefinger is sending the daughter of the woman he loves, the biggest bargaining chip he has to him. it makes zero sense.
