Really hope this is the case, because I have been saving them up for a while now and have a shitload of exotic and legendary engrams. Have had no real reason to decrypt them and figured worst case scenario they would get me a few cryptarch ranks after the new content comes out but it would be awesome if they actually drop new gear.
I don't have a problem with them dropping new gear but I hope there's some sort of light cap on what can be decrypted. I went from 320 to 334 the first or second day of the April update because of exotic engrams. It would be pretty crazy for something like that to be possible in the actual expansion. I know Bungie mentioned raising the minimum light of exotics (280 in TTK) in Rise of Iron so maybe they're just allowing exotics to drop up to that number.
Put a ghost on that gives you mate for tha planet for engrams. Rack up mats. I've never had a blue decrypt this low since I hit like 300. Weird.
