I’m sure it’s a comedy. Stede Bonnet was a famously terrible pirate. Was fairly rich sold everything to be a pirate despite have basically never sailed. His crew abandoned him, Blackbeard took over his ship for a while and was basically a guest.
Just want to come back to this. I’ve watched this episode 4 times now. Love the passive aggressive bit so much
I love how Mr. Buttons has to know if he’s talking to a ghost or not whenever he sees someone he doesn’t know
I can ID his voice in my sleep. Unless it’s Nick Kroll doing The Hormone Monster voice. Kroll was most likely dead from passive aggression in an early episode so it couldn’t have been him.
Not sure why George I was in the show and not Queen Anne. I bet Olivia Colman would have reprised her Oscar winning character from The Favourite for a scene or two.
I just realized I went to sleep away camp with Black Pete, LOL. Obviously looks a lot different than the 9 year old version I remember.
Did Black Pete give you a wooden appendage at sleepaway camp? I love how the show is both very progressive but also completely glosses over the source of Stede's enormous wealth. So I assume Claudia O'Doherty and Tim Heidecker got to keep Stede's 94 slaves.
i love the majority of the characters but don't really think the show hits for me i'm pretty bored by most of the episodes. i'n through 8 now.
My kid is playing the Assassins Creed pirate game and Stede is the fancy bumbling idiot “pirate” that you help out at the start.
