Now with TE and RT off the board I’m curious what direction we head for round 1. I’m all for the best available interior linemen or defensive player. Wouldn’t hate a WR I guess if someone good fell to us

I think they'll still take a RT in the first round. There are a ton of first round tackles this year and Brown is only a 1 year stop gap, not a long term solution.

With two older vets with recent injury history playing on one year deals, I wouldn't say either position is off the board.

Our owner is Mike Brown, so I’m taking that into account when I say we’re done at RT and TE for the year

I’d love that guy from Oregon State

I feel like they are still going to go after a RT in the draft.

There are so many good tackles in this draft... I'd be shocked they don't pick one in round 1.

Wish there were more than one good nose tackle in this draft, because losing Reader leaves a huge hole that I don't see how we can fill unless it's a trade. The remaining NT market in free agency is pretty awful.

Yeah I think they're going to have to trade for a NT. Maybe they'll flip Dax for one since he still has potential and is on a rookie deal for 3 more years. He's clearly not a deep safety and should just be moved to slot corner where he played in college.

Read on Twitter, Taylor is at the Texas pro day. He rarely goes to pro days.

    Prospects:

    1. DI BYRON MURPHY II, TEXAS
    PFF BIG BOARD RANK: 9
Murphy is a gifted defensive lineman in both the strength and speed categories. He is a versatile three-down player who brings plus abilities as a run defender and a pass rusher, projecting as a first-round impact starter for any front.

    7. DI T'VONDRE SWEAT, TEXAS
    PFF BIG BOARD RANK: 74
Sweat has the size that you can't teach. At his best, he's an impact, versatile interior defensive player, but weight and conditioning will determine how often that can be in the NFL.

Murphy would 100% be my pick if he fell to us, but I think he'll be gone before 18.

Newton from Illinois or Murphy would be mine. Guess it will all depend on how many QB , OL and WR go first.

Jackson was a reach but we’re desperate for a true nose tackle. I like the first three picks though.

I'm happy with the draft so far even though they may not have gotten a true 2024 starter in the first three rounds. I like the Mims pick and he'll surely play because Trent Brown always gets hurt and misses half of the season. Jenkins is good. I don't know shit about McKinnley Jackson but they needed DT depth and both of them should be firmly in the rotation. Burton is a shit head but he's good at football. I may have preferred Troy Franklin but clearly the league isn't terribly high on him for whatever reason.

Would be cool if they could trade up and get Sanders or Stover but trading up is rarely something they try and do.

Mims is the risky pick, but there were really a clear top 5 OTs before a drop, I think, and he happened to be the last one left. From 3 to 5, he has the lowest floor but highest ceiling. It helps that he's not needed unless of injury, but unfortunately that's likely.

I'll say he at least passes the eyeball test at the moment. We've seen other plays near his size look physically sloppy. He's just huge but looks to carry it well.

I actually love the DT stack. With a few exceptions, this team has drafted well there in early to mid rounds when they've committed to it. I'm feeling much better with the addition of them and Rankins.

I like Burton for where they got him. At his size I'd hope to see a little better route runner with more strength and creativity to hopefully fit in the slot. I'm not sure he has enough of the complete package to be a full time #2 down the road. But he uses his speed well enough and makes catches downfield that he can be a dangerous weapon when defenses will be focused elsewhere. I honestly like Jones and Iosivoss better for their potential fits in their respective roles long term after Tee is gone. Still, he makes plays. Can't argue with that.

Granted, sixes and sevens can be damned near throw aways but they still have six picks left for some depth and projects to maybe develop, and hopefully even find a guy or two who can help now. I'll join in with you Buckeye homers and wish for a dream scenario of Stover dropping. He's a perfect Bengal TE, where they need just enough athleticism, good hands and a lot of toughness to complement the focal point of the offense (QB aside) - WR. TE will never be a main weapon be design so I disagree with fans who have pushed for early round TEs the last two drafts.

My homer pick is Cam Hart at CB if he drops. People don't realize how good he's played because he's been overshadowed by All Americans Morrison at CB and Watts at safety. One of the reasons Morrison had so many picks the previous year is because nobody threw at Hart. When they tried this year, he shut them down. They both had excellent games against OSU's receivers this season. He's always played well against better competition.

But, both will probably be gone so, maybe somebody else at those positions. There are also some really good values at RB still out there. And of course, it's never a bad idea to feed the depth chart at edge.

Might have preferred Fautaunu in R1 since I think he's closer to full potential and I have no faith in Pollack to develop anyone. But you can hardly fault them for the Mims pick. Freakish tools and has played well when he's been out there. Jenkins seems solid. Burton is a psycho but he doesn't drop passes and has elite athleticism. Jackson seems like a massive reach, but a necessary one I guess since they whiffed on replacing Reader's skillset in free agency.

Would like to come out of day 3 with an IOL, TE, RB, and a corner.
