Constantly switching checking accounts for small sign up bonuses is tedious and not worth it to me, personally.
Poor bastard. Don't think the carnage is going to stop with DJT, there is a $TRUMP crypto coin as well. Donny owns a non-zero %....think it's going to moon around the Republican convention and ole Donny is going to dump on his supporters' heads - he's broke and needs the cash
My parents aren’t MAGA but they are olds so I hope of these days I can convince them to let me take a leading role in their finances. My mom just got a letter in the mail that she has a significant amount of money in a CD that she thought was her mortgage balance. 0.5% return isn’t great either…
random thread found in search: https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/apple-investing-scenario-wow.49271/ What would you have now if you put 5k into Apple stock or Google stock in 2010?
Buddy worked on the advertising for the first iPod. Told everyone at a party Apple had a great product coming. Wish I had $5k in 2000.
How many of us who abandoned Robinhood in 20/21ish have gone back for the new CC with universal 3% CB or roth stuff?. On principal it's a no, but for economic reasons I'm having a hard time not re-opening my account. The only (transactional)downside seems to be $50 annual fee (which could be changed at any moment).
I did the ira match process for a family member who I manage their money They old so they have a massive IRA balance. Hard to walk away from free money in an account that is purely passive
Nothing I've seen so far. Just make sure the ira you're moving in has funds that Robinhood has. Only have to keep Robinhood gold for the first year too, since this person is old and not putting money in yearly.
My house costs more than 30 of my cars. Is my house too expensive or am I not spending enough on my cars? I’m probably right on target with the sandwiches.
Finally opened Roth IRA for my daughter, she's 14. Would it be silly to do the same thing I'm doing with a US/Intl/Bond 70/20/10 mix? I should probably just go 100% S&P500? 100% FXAIX - Fidelity 500 Index Fund - ER 0.015% 70%/20%/10% FSKAX - Fidelity Total Market Index Fund - ER 0.015% FSGGX - Fidelity Global ex U.S. Index Fund - ER 0.055% FXNAX - Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund - ER 0.025%
100% into S&P IMO. Note: I am not FINRA registered broker and have no fiduciary duty. This is not investment advice.
Does she have income? Remember she has to have income and the most she can contribute is that income amount up to $7000.
Yes, thanks. Just a couple hundred bucks income. I opened the account with $150. Heh, it's something! Hopefully I can educate her well enough so she'll keep it in there and keep contributing to it.
Giving the ol' "get $600 bonus for opening new bank account and setting up direct deposit/xfer for 3 months" a try again. Citizens. Seems worth it for about 30 minutes of work. Hope it works though, last time I tried this the direct deposit would never work.
I didn’t have an appreciation for how many accounts I had to switch. Utility, water, gas, electric, credit cards, mortgage, brokerage accounts. Worth it but took a couple hours. $600 though is pretty nice. Capital one I think gave me $200 to switch from BofA.
oh, I'm not switching. just an extra account to put a little bit into to quality for the bonus - I hope.
