If they had sort of just modestly rolled them out, it would have been whatever, but they built this up to be the most exciting change in the history of the franchise and all they did was invert a few colors and slightly modify a few design elements.
These look pretty good. Would like to see the all white + white helmet. Also looks like they might need to adjust the helmet to match the red uniforms but overall an upgrade imo.
I don't see the appeal of those black unis. It'd be one thing if they were black with red/gold accents, but just black and white seems bland and pointless. I'm probably in the minority.
Yeah, I’ve never really liked them either. I assume there was some story/idea that correlates with cyclones (dark/grey skies) and that’s why they’re so plain. I say that since it seems like every alternate needs a “story” lol I’d also guess they didn’t want to do a gold accent for the sake of being too close to Iowa since it’s a rivalry.
They should have just stuck with the Seneca Wallace era uniforms. Those were fairly unique and pretty cool. They’ve had like 30 helmets/logos it feels like the last 50 years so it’s kind of crazy they landed on their current logo and it’s stuck for 15 years. Especially with teams bringing back retro looks.
These would be better than the black ones they released yesterday. I love the all white/storm trooper uniforms usually though. IMO having two versions of these would be overkill. Should do some kind of gold version if they’re doing a 4th imo.
I think UA does a pretty good job with y’all in all sports but I get it. But for the love of god, please only wear garnet helmets with black jerseys at home.
I don't completely hate the UA experience. Main reason I want to switch is recruiting, particularly basketball. I like UA shorts, t's, polos, any kind of workout stuff as far as fan gear goes. I agree garnet should be our main helmet. To me it's less generic than white. Nike can use this as the template when they get here IYAM. Though I do prefer CAROLINA across the front to GAMECOCKS.
Team abandon those awful black helmets. I like the "GAMECOCKS" across the front for home jerseys and "CAROLINA" for away.
