That's what I've seen it going for on secondary. I've considered pulling the trigger a few times. It's one of my favorites though.
You're not going to make anything flipping it if it's $200 to you. You'd probably end up losing money after shipping each way. It's one of my favorites from the past year though. I would recommend it more than most things even at that secondary price.
Stop looking is the only solution I've found. When I was big into beer I just quit following everything and I found it was pretty easy. Can't buy stuff I don't know about.
Yeah, I've tried to stay off facebook or anywhere else that I would see info about bourbon releases or new bottles. I've also stopped going to my go to bourbon store to get beer and other things I buy more regularly. I used to get everything from that store and would basically walk out with bourbon every time, if I went in planning on it or not.
Alcohol is a budget line. I stop when the line hits zero, and save up in preparation for allocation season.
Guessing you are in NBSC, too. That page is brutal because guys are always driving up to Kentucky and getting a ton of really hard to get stuff. Once I realized most bottles posted on there probably weren't purchased in Nashville, it's helped.
I am, those dudes also spend a lot of time camping out during allocation season as well. Nelson bros honey drops may 24th I believe.
I can't think of many things I'd enjoy less than "camping out" with whiskey weirdos in a parking lot waiting for the chance to buy a bottle. And I love camping.
Not Whiskey Weirdos but would you like to come wait in line for the next release of BCS Armida with the #PearPeeps
There's one store here that does one annual bourbon day where they release all of their tater bottles and part of their year end allocation. People start to line up the previous day before noon and I think 100+ people camp overnight for it. It sounds absolutely terrible to me.
Our local Kroger chain had a couple events like this in February at various stores. People waiting in line for 24 hours. And all of the extremely rare stuff was raffled off, all you had to do was show up and get a handstamp. Seems like an awful time. Especially since you had to buy the "crap" from one table to purchase from the other.
Like Aussie said, you have to just quit looking. I had to take a break from this thread for a while because I wanted everything all the time. Now, there are only a very few I am willing to buy and I'll go for it if I see them. One of those on the list is any TMB pick, I will always buy two of those.
received the New Rift single barrel that RockHardJawn39 sent, and tried it last night with the lady. we both said it was "fine", but would spend the $50ish it goes for here elsewhere. not my favorite, but didn't hate it either. like a 6/10
I don’t but this is twice now somebody has sent me stuff through the post office, and it usually shows up a week late.
Man that's a no no. I would never send anything alcohol through the post office. Unless it's going overseas but I never did an overseas trade.
I would flip ups and FedEx myself. At least back when I was shipping a lot. Ups was always damaging shit and were more expensive.
Going to a big raffle tomorrow. Hopefully it's not a complete shit show. They have quite a few good bottles up for grabs.
Me too but I'm not too optimistic. This place is a bit out of the way so I'm hoping maybe people won't make the trek but I'm guessing I'm not that lucky.
