Yeah the tides have turned on Bieber and his shit bangs now. But take it to the Bieber thread. Oh wait, there's not one, because while everyone likes Bieber now, no one is going to be the guy that starts the Biebs thread.
edit - I'll spare the Kanye thread. http://www.the-mainboard.com/index....ool-r-b-rock-soul.162183/page-3#post-10157173
I was in your same predicament. I signed up for Tidal but you can cancel auto-renew pretty easily. https://support.tidal.com/hc/en-us/...cription-with-iTunes-Billing-In-App-Purchase-
Big fan of: ULB, FML, & No More Parties in LA Like: Waves, Facts, Wolves Dislike: pretty much everything else. I can't stand the auto tune stuff. Chance's verse on ULB is my favorite part of the album.
I used to do drugs. Spoiler I still do. But I used to too. Truth be told I smoke a lot and drink on the weekends (except in Nola where it seems I've drank everyday since I've moved here) and find blow for my friends. Hadn't taken acid in 5-6 years until this Halloween, last time I took mushrooms was 08' for tool. I do smoke a decent amount of dmt, but that comes and goes. My tastes are very eclectic and love lots of music. My Spotify tells me the last artists I've listened to are Isley Bros, ODB, Kanye (dark fantasy to remind myself if I liked it or not, I didn't), The Time, Busta Rhymes, Rick James, Paul Simon, lil Wayne, and Vulfpeck Personally I think it's blasphemy to compare JT to beebz, honestly incomprehensible. And I don't like Kanye post graduation. I don't like much edm unless it's really weird, love R2D2, old pretty lights, emancipator and stuff like that. Love jamtronica like STS9 and zoogma and most jam bands minus WSP. I dig harder shit like tool, rage, Mars Volta, Primus, And i obviously classic rock. I don't feel like I'm closed minded at all, just really dislike kanyes new shit and attitude. I was rocking the unpressed CD before it came out. I can recite every word off CD and LR. I fucking loved Kanye, he was prolly my favorite entertainer from early 04' til June of 08' when Kanye showed his ass at Bonarroo. Since then, I have no respect for the dude because he has no respect for his fans and the people who supported him. He is gonna do whatever he wants (which I love and respect) but will throw you under the bus or throw a tantrum if he doesn't get his way (which I loathe and detest). Lots of people ITT love the new Kanye and that's great, but I feel differently and that stems from my own musical taste evolution and my distaste for who and what he represents. /posts in thread. I'm trying to just lurk, but am just responding to posts directed at me.
Liked for the Mitch Hedberg reference Also I think your main issue with Kanye is his attitude and that is swaying your feelings. Try listening to it without giving any thought to the person that he is away from the music and you may enjoy it. The music he creates starting with the production standpoint is uniquely great
His attitude comes through very clearly in his music. They are one in the same. /really trying to not reply.
He's been cocky since day 1 though. If you don't like it now then how could you have enjoyed any of his works? Granted he's taken it to another level but it's not like he went from one album to the next all of a sudden with an ego
He went from cocky to condescending. He is very talented but to put himself with Picasso, Disney, Kubrick, etc... Is and deserves to be mocked endlessly. /thread for me. Please don't engage me.
'Why you think me and Dame cool? We assholes That's why we hear your music in fast forward, cuz we don't want to hear that weak shit no mo' That's more condescending than cocky and you were able to hear that 2 weeks before anyone
heard there were some motherfuckers in here throwing shade at bieber better watch your fucking mouths
It seems to me, you hear something and either it pleases you, or it doesn't. I can't imagine that changing based on the idea you dislike someone.
This is me exactly, except i would add Real Friends into the Like category as well. I think Waves couldve been amazing if Kanye actually did something on the track. That beat is fantastic. Reminds me of timbaland.
This thread is saddening because I love Kanye. All of Kanye. All you guys trying to put shit in boxes are worrying too much about semantics. He is one of the few actual artists in mainstream rap. I think he's the best because of his entire catalog. All of it is good. Love 808s, someone tried to say it was jumping on a fad a few pages back? What? show me other examples from the synth pop rap genre from the time so I can find who he was emulating. Downplaying his influence because posers have been less successful? Jesus, such logic...
It's kinda funny how everyone is like I want the old Kanye. His old stuff was better etc. Every single album has been different than the next. He has changed with every project he puts out.
Call it whatever you want. People are just saying they didnt like TLOP nearly as much as some of his older shit.
I know tidal sucks and everything, but their playlists are pretty solid. Enjoying the produced by kanye one this wonderful friday evening.
He can be as crazy as he wants... things I don't like songs being thrown onto the album or tinkered with post-release and sometimes being weak lyrically and not having many solid verses. ton of awesome songs doe
which is why I wish his lyrical game was where it used to be. big fan of fade after a few more listens
Pootie Tang @DVRKSKIN White Kid: Mom,Metro Boomin Doesn't Trust You.. Mom: What Does That Mean? White Kid:
after quite a few listens: ultralight beam - 5/5 father pt. 1 - 5/5 father pt. 2 - 4.5/5 famous - 4.5/5 feedback - 4.5/5 low lights - n/a highlights - 5/5 freestyle 4 - 3/5 (worst song on the album) i love kanye - n/a waves - 4/5 (c breezy really kills the replay value on this one; hopefully i get over it) fml - 5/5 real friends - 5/5 (best song on the album) wolves - 5/5 silver surfer - n/a 30 hours - 4.5/5 (couldn't get a 3 stacks verse?) no more parties - 5/5 facts - 3.5/5 (should have been left off the album) fade - 4.5/5 (makes me wanna listen to deep cover afterwards) 63/70 solid album...doesn't really have a marquee track like blood on the leaves or all of the lights but just solid all around
Man, if this was still 2005 and we all had songs as our ringtones, better believe "If young metro don't trust you im gon shoot you BEAUTIFUL MORNIN..." would be mine.
