This reminds me of the first home I tried to purchase. Was listed well above market but after it had sat for a few months (this was 2017 when things were starting to heat up) I came in with a lowball offer at what myself and my realtor thought was a fair realistic price $30k below asking. They refused and came back with an offer $5k below. I passed and kept looking. After I was already in another home a few months later my realtor called me to let me know that the overpriced house finally sold for less money than I had asked for. I guess that’s also an example of having a good realtor vs a bad one.
What a bunch of assholes. Sellers are being fucking weird right now and thinking that the market is like it was in 2022.
I looked at a house today because I like the area…. But, the price is absurd for the house. It has been on the market for over two months and they had the first open house today. Come to find out that the owner bought it in 2023 for 30k less than current asking and bought it for a AirBnB. He then lopped off like the only yard and has it as its own standalone lot that the buyer has the opportunity to purchase separately. So all in, he has this property sitting on the market for about $125k more than what he paid last year. What a fuckhead
I don’t think it helps that a lot of realtors are trying to hold on for dear life. Like what are you telling your clients after having a buildable property on the market for 6-months that isn’t selling?
Not gonna lie, I took the leaf blower to the gutters once and just blew wet leaves and gunk all over the brick and windows.
Yes, I’ve painted the exterior of my house twice (cedar siding). By hand, no sprayer. What’s the trick? Prep, prep, and more prep. The actual painting is a non-event and just caps off the project, which was really all about the prep.
What a weirdo. My favorites are the ones that were sold to Zillow then to a LLC a few months later in 2023 and are now for sell with zero improvements put in. Hell there are some that you can't help but wonder what's wrong with it if it's been listed for so long
Oh, spring? AC isn't working? Yay!! Apparently a coil is leaking. What fun. Lighting a few grand on fire.
Yes. My typical rental is being renovated:( He will have his own wing so we don't have to bang in front of him
What have you all found as the best weed killer? They are currently taking over my flower beds, all kinds of them. I was reading online and it seems like I need to get one with 41% glyphosphate. Does that sound right?
Just good old fashioned roundup (weed and lawn killer) for garden beds. For lawn weeds ortho weedbgone safe for the lawn works well just make sure you get the formula for your type of grass, northern or southern. Just make sure you don’t get either on your flowers or shrubs
Went to view a house last night that went on the market Friday night. Already had five offers and there were two other couples viewing the house when we got there. Submitted an offer over asking but not super confident we’ll win. Why do the houses I like have to be well priced and undergoing bidding wars
I just got some Triad QC on Amazon, it needs a surfactant to help it stick and absorb to the weeds so grab some of the MSO methylated seed oil. Its a mixture of three week killers and did a decent job on the stuff I hit it with. Its supposed to kill crabgrass as well, but I am not seeing as much of a reaction yet, but its only been 2 weeks. Apparently some weeds take up to three weeks to kill. I also got some mesotrione to spray three weeks after I sprayed the Triad. Its also supposed to target crab grass. I am getting some of the Lazer marking spray as well to ensure I am hitting everything I want to kill. The mesotrione came with its own surfactant so I am going to try that on the next run. It doesn't help my neighbors don't really care much about the weeks so they are all re-seeding my yard with their shitty weeds. I am hoping the pre-emergent I put down earlier helps prevent some of that.
Just finished clearing out and painting my garage in preparation for an epoxy floor finish. I had entertained the idea of doing it myself, youtubed several DIY videos that highlighted the several ways I could fuck it up and elected to hire someone else. Gotta tell ya...my garage looks fantastic. Clean, spacious...almost inviting. Once the floor is done, I may sleep in there.
This may be a dumb question. I've always assumed I couldn't use roundup in our flower beds because it would kill the flowers, too. Is that not the case?
I've never maintained an organized garage, making it my mission in my new place. These were my first two purchases: I'll probably end up adding more on to the metal storage system but still have stuff from the move to deal with and not exactly sure where I'm permanently putting it.
Well excuse me for typing and having a stroke at the same time. But seriously i was just multitasking and not doing a good job at all of it.
Reminded me of my grandfather's garage and his shop out back. Neither had sheetrock on the ceilings and he had all kinds of stuff up there
Our garage was decently clean, could fit both cars in the garage. one garage door broke, so we stopped using that side. it began to accumulate storage, after having a kid. we had to finish our basement, so everything from the basement went into the garage. idk if we'll ever get a car back in the garage. I've turned into one of those people.
My bil and sil's garage is filled with boxes of crap. They park in the driveway. No idea what they are keeping in those boxes
My grandmas 2 car garage was legit filled floor to ceiling with one thin path way from the interior door out the middle of the garage. If you wanted to get to something against a wall, good luck.
Quick tip my wife found somewhere. When you go to put those tubs of storage up there, before you close em up, take a photo of what’s inside. Then number it and include the number in the photo somewhere. This way you can go through the photos to figure out which box has what in it. Works decently.
