Yeah the story itself has so many “epic” things they can just show on screen there really isn’t much of a need to add any extra in. It’s why I and everyone itt thought the ending to the last episode was really forced and unnecessary. I’m ok with all the other little changes they’ve done, that one was purely just for an “epic” scene.
I will say kinda cool seeing them pick and choose which history they use in the show. Seems like mushroom accounts is winning
Not sure what needs to be s Haven’t seen any official sources confirm this yet so I’m guessing it’s just an educated guess based on F&B and what we’ve seen in the trailer for Ep. 10. I’d bet a decent amount of money that we end the episode with Jace landing there.
Great episode. Too bad we’re going to have to wait gods know how long for s2. Incredible visually Spoiler -Matt smith is going to just completely own daemon in the war. Cannot wait to see more of him in this role -I actually really like the twist with aemond. Viserys said earlier that it’s an illusion having power of the dragons and man should have never messed with them. I think it also really adds to the war is hell and how awful war, especially a civil war, truly is -love seeing these houses we never saw in GoT get screen time -which dragon was daemon signing to? -aemond’s sapphire eye was awesome -lastly, we are going to get blood and cheese S2 ep1 aren’t we?
Thanks for nothing you raggedy bitches I found it myself As far as the episode Spoiler Thought it was the best of the season. Storm's End was awesome. Aemond's sapphire eyes was dope as fuck and he continues to cement his legacy as the most anime looking mf'er of all time. I know a lot of people will be upset by the mechanics of Luke's death. i honestly don't mind it. Nobody knew wtf Aemond was thinking killing his nephew. I feel like it makes sense it wasn't intentional.
Spoiler it just plays well into everything. They couldn’t even find KG with battle experience. These are kids riding fucking dragons.
Spoiler Google has a preview of tonight’s episode and says it’s vermithor god damn the next season is going to be wild
I watched the leak so I could watch the Fins on SNF. Popped over at halftime just in time for Storm’s End. Shit was like a horror movie.
I hate that there's not another episode next week and that I have to wait 2 years to see Winterfell again.
HBO better have a good ass recap of season 1 releasing ahead of season 2 since it's going to be 2 years away. I have a hard enough time as it is watching every week keeping up with who all the characters are since there's a million of them.
Overall I was very happy with this season, my expectations were pretty low and they blew those away. I'm more than willing to wait 12-18 months for season 2 as long as it's done right.
I think these show runners have earned some benefit of the doubt. I'm a bit worried about how they wrap the series though considering how much of a mess this war becomes. But that's a problem for much later.
Spoiler I really wish they didn’t have all these characters be so unsure of themselves. Rhaenyra is out for blood the moment she loses her baby “they stole my crown and murdered my daughter and they shall answer for it.” Jace and Luke volunteer to carry the messages because “only Targaryens ride dragons” and are anxious to dispel the rumors about their lineage. Corlys says “the gods have kept me alive for this last fight.” Rhaenys doesn’t think twice about supporting Rhaenyra’s claim. Alicent imprisons the serving man who found Viserys’ corpse so she can immediately plot with her father and is only excepted from taking a blood oath because she’s a woman. Having Daemon and Otto as the only two characters with their minds made up kind of lessens the impact of the contempt the Blacks and the Greens have for one another. That being said, having Luke’s death be accidental wasn’t completely out of character, and keeps with book canon because nobody was close enough to see what happened between Arrax and Vhagar.
was never really stated, he def went after him. I like the show twist - a little peak into some GRRM insight. i also like the ‘twist’ that seems to be looking accurate where Spoiler Aemond is the dad of all of Helaena’s kids, not Aegon. That’s why Aemond is always checking in on her. Will make Blood and Cheese that much more impactful
In the book one of Baratheon’s daughters shames Aemond into chasing Luke by saying “did he take one of your eyes or one of your balls?” and Mushroom claims (heavily implied falsely) that he served Luke’s eyes to her on a bed of seaweed. As for his death, the guards at Storm’s End see distant blasts of flame but nobody is close enough to really know what happened between the dragons.
Having Otto go to Dragonstone himself was dumb. Book Daemon would have clapped him up with the quickness.
Loved the episode and season as a whole. I thought Luke’s death being accidental was actually perfectly fitting. It’s going to be a loooooong wait.
Daemon specifically mentions the three wild dragons at one point. I know they're going to show the Sowing at one point and we're 100% getting Nettles which means we will also get Sheepstealer which is really cool. I just want like a brief side story of say, Silver Denys, just to watch someone fuck with the Cannibal and for everyone else to conclude that the Cannibal is maybe one dragon they can do without since there's zero chance the Greens will get to it either. it'll never happen for a bunch of reasons but it'd be so cool. there's such a point of emphasis made on the Targs and dragons, it'd be great to show that not all dragons can be ridden.
I’m only 25 minutes in and not reading the thread yet, but my god that fire-engulfed table map thing is fucking badass.
Also will Daemon be able to fly on Caraxes and this new one he was trying to break? Like owning multiple vehicles?
it was different crown. Aegon was coronated in public with aegon the conqueror’s crown and his sword, black fyre. Erryk, swiped viserys crown on his way out of kings landing. That is what he presented to rhaenyra
no. This was just him singing to it. Earlier in the episode he was going through all the dragons and were they where and their rider situation. dragons are war machines and having them on your side gives you an enormous advantage. But, you need dragon riders. There are also a few that are “wild” dragons that haven’t been ridden. the one he was singing to, I think, is the largest one outside of vhagar who is fucking massive
Id love just a cheesy 90s sitcom montage of people trying to mount the wild dragons and getting destroyed
I am pretty sure them including that in the show, and her telling daemon, is George working it in to set up Rhaegar learning about it and why he ends up doing what he does
